frank mallicoat. nearly 5:00 on this wednesday. gunfire on highway 4 in the east bay for the second time in five days. kpix 5's anne makovec has the very latest from the john muir medical center. she is live in concord this morning. good morning. >>> reporter: a disturbing situation when it comes to these two shootings in less than a week in the same area. we got reports that one person who was shot came here to john muir medical center in concord last night. this all started though at around midnight in the bay point area. this was the area of san marco boulevard and highway 4. officers blocked off the area for this investigation. again, it happened after midnight. the driver came to the medical center in concord. we don't know the person's condition at this point. this also sounds similar to a shooting along highway 4, the same area on saturday 2.2 miles away exactly when 20-year-old tomas mendez was killed on his way home from work. somebody shot at him while he was driving east on highway 4 near bailey road. we don't know if those two incidents are connected. we are waiting for more information. anne makovec kp
