anne makovec is live in pacifica with the details. i'm glad you're not wearing a hat this morning, anne. >> reporter: i know. , you know, i should be because then my hair might have some hope of looking decent at some point today but it's just not the case. it is extremely windy out here along the coastline and it's going to be all day. but the good news is they just opened highway 1 in pacifica. it was closed for a few miles after a rockslide in devil's slide. let's look at some of the video that we shot at about 4:30 this morning. this was crews cleaning up the last bit of that mud slide and it was mainly mud at that point. they were making sure all the mud was off the road so cars weren't slipping around but there were a lot of rocks involved and they cleaned those up overnight. crews were out there for several hours. and this is the opening this morning was very good news for commuters because when that is closed which does happen from time to time, that can make a 10-minute commute last up to an hour.

our anne makovec is in pacifica with more on the road closure. anne, hang on to your microphone out there. >> reporter: whoo! it is so windy out here, elizabeth. it is windy and cold. and that is not the only problem weather-wise. the mud slide behind me you can see highway 1, i'm in linda mar right now at pacifica, highway 1 is closed at this point because of a mud slide in devil's slide. let me show you some of the pictures that we shot just a few minutes ago up towards the slide. crews just trying to get rid of the mud on highway 101. overnight, some rocks tumbled down buckling the pavement closing the road. now, they have been working on making a tunnel through san pedro mountain. they have been working on that since 2007 and crews broke through in october. so that's going to be the saving grace because this does happen from time to time. for commuters it can make a 10- minute commute up to an hour. and that is the wind, gale warning all day today until midnight tonight. we had some gusts over 50 miles an hour overnight. that did not stop some

anne makovec is in antioch, where the mayor is taking action. anne, good morning. >> reporter: the mayor is hoping to meet with police top brass sometime today to talk about how to keep the city of antioch under control. here's a map of some of the crimes that have taken place actually in a 14 hour period earlier this week. a woman stabbed to death in a grocery store parking lot on monday. then some shots fired between vehicles leaving a man hurt that afternoon and a man shot and injured in a carjacking that evening. and then, a woman is hit and killed in a hit-and-run dragging yesterday morning. here's a look at that crime scene. police say a man drove a woman to this market just before 2 a.m. and when she got out of the truck, he ran her over, dragging her body through the parking lot. she died. he was arrested and police are still trying to figure out what their relationship was and why he may have killed her. so a nearby market manager says that area near cavallo and 18th has become a haven for the homeless and prostitution. so we have police
