gordon reid. her acclaimed book is entitled "on juneteenth." annette, when we had you on before, you told us that you had a little bit of problem people outside of texas celebrating this holiday. so i'm thinking this morning, in the words of my grandmother, grandma, jewel, this must take the rag off the churn. this has to really be something for, a national holiday. would you have even believed this which you started writing this book? i would >> i wouldn't have believed it. i have to say, joe, when i was younger, i felt a lot of pique about people celebrating, but i'm totally happy about it now. but i didn't anticipate pip certainly didn't anticipate the quickness of everything that's happened this week, certainly. >> so talk about it. talk about what it means to you. talk about what it means to this country. >> well, juneteenth is tailor made. i love it because i'm a historian, it's tailor made for thinking about history. you have to ask, what happened? when it happened? why? what happened afterwards? and almost every celebration that i've seen, ever
