tell me what is the latest, you were able to capture annette hail, how did you do that? >> i'm with the sheriff's office. we're here on mutual aid to help atascadero police. it was a huge effort by people working the homeless encampments. distributing information, so and so forth. we believe she then knew that she was in trouble. at which point she allegedly made a phone call and told us where to find the boy. and then an alert to atascadero state hospital officer saw her hiding in the bushes and with assistance took her into custody. >> reporter: so she was cooperative? >> well, i don't have the details of the arrest, but at this particular point in time our whole concern was the child. we have him, he's in good shape. he's been examined by paramedics and as you mentioned he's reunited with his family. that's the big top of this story tonight. >> reporter: okay, and i mean this was very serious. we heard she had a history of mental illness that she could have been dangerous. >> any time you have a third party abduction like this. that's something we need to be very conc
