annie mccormick has more details. >> reporter: 981 calls from witnesses came into police around 1:45 in the afternoon sunday. officers lined the banks. lehigh river responding from the oohs side and west side of allentown. a 19-year-old woman pushed the stroller on the bridge and did the unthinkable in an apparent attempted murder suicide. >> i saw the stroller halfway down the sidewalk. when i got over her, they were telling me some lady threw the baby over the bridge and then she jumped off. the baby was 700 yards downstream and in the water for at least four minutes. officer joseph inetta performed cpr and brought the infant back to life. police say from the bridge to the water is a 52-foot drop and it's a miracle they are ray live. >> reporter: police say the officer had 13 years on the force, police say the mother and child were taken to lehigh valley hospital in serious condition. they have not released the name of the mother, they tell us it is an on going investigation and no charges have been filed. reporting in allentown, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> and poli
