annie. >> reporter: and matt that little boy was slot in the arm.lder. the good news is we are told that he was alert and conscious as he was taken away by an ambulance and his injuries appear to be nonlife-threatening. now, we're also told that in order to keep this little boy calm while they were waiting for that ambulance, his parents talked to him about his upcoming birthday party. well, this is the scene last night around 11 o'clock. that's when shots fired in the 400 block of whittington place tore through the young boy's home knocking the curtains off the wall. the bullet missed the boy's parents by inches. the mom grabbed the little boy and her youngest children and laid on the floor. the father protected them by lying on top. well, the little boy told his parents he couldn't breathe and that's when they discovered the gunshot wound. it appears the boy was shot while standing next to his parents while they were preparing dinner. the other children in the home were not injured. neither were the parents. medics transported the young victim to

annie mccormick has more. >> reporter: it was on this block on wyoming after the shootout began. after exchanging gunfire with the security guard, the shooter jumped into a vehicle with two others and ditched the car and got away. this was video from the scene, 2:00 a.m., calls flooded 911 after hearing shots fired in the 100 block of wyoming. police say an armed uniform security guard with a permit to carry heard and saw ungunfire across the street from -- saw gunfire across the street from where he worked. the shooter got into a chevy malibu and ditched the car around the corner. >> the perpetrator that the took him away from the scene, there were shell casings inside the vehicle. there was no blood in the car. we have to evidence that the shooter was shot by the security guard. we did check area hospitals. >> reporter: police are still working to track down the registered owner of the which cy malibu that was taken away from the scene. the security guard was released from the hospital. he was shot in the leg, the bullet remains in his leg, he did come back to the scene, but de

annie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, nydia. according to wilmington police there are five shooting victims several of them juveniles, at least one a teenager. at this hour no word on if they have identified the shooter or shooters. well, this is video from the scene. it was around 9:15 last night that officers responded to elm street and south van buren street. multiple calls of shots fired came into 911. officers found three shooting victims on van buren and two others on harrison. police say the victims are juvenile one as young as 13. that young girl and the rest of the victims were taken to area hospitals and are listed all in stable condition. now, back out here live we were told that not far from tuesday night's shooting on monday night around the same neighborhood there was a 24-year-old man that was shot and wounded in the shoulder. at this hour police say that they are not connected, it just appears that there was a lot of gunfire in that one center of the city and of course police are still looking for any information

good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, tamala.he victim died a violent death. now, they have charged one person for the homicide and currently as of last night according to the homicide captain they are still questioning a person of interest. well, this is video from when police found the body of 26-year-old toy charda bryant of chester last tuesday morning handcuffed in the 5300 block of georges hill drive here in the mann center in fairmount park. police charged 39-year-old shavon armstrong with murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and robbery. investigators say armstrong of wilkes-barre turned herself in this weekend. now, according to investigators, bryant was tortured. police found stab wounds and cloth suffered in her mouth. she was also beaten and slot in the back of the head and this was all over an 800-dollar debt. police believe bryant was killed elsewhere before she was moved. they could tell, though, that she fought for her life. >> she does have defensive wounds on her hands so it appears she was in a fight and was
