. >> fox5's annie yu is live in saint mary's county this morning. annie, has anything changed since the last time we talked to you? >> reporter: it certainly has, wisdom and maureen. good morning to you. good morning, everybody. it's definitely getting worse as we head south towards saint mary's county. we're on route five right now just past the 301 split headed into charles county. it's about 60 miles southeast of d.c. so, we're making our way slowly and it's getting worse. and you know it's bad when you start to lose a lot of pavement but also you can't see the lines on the roadway. so, we are playing it safe, just following this plow truck. we see a small number of plow trucks out and about. you could definitely tell the roads have been treated but because of the flakes still falling and then you've got this cold temperature, this stuff is making it very, very tricky to get around now. so, if you have a front wheel drive vehicle, you are going to be -- you're going to definitely want to play it by ear because we have all wheel drive, four wheel

. >>> annie yu in saint mary's county keeping an eye on conditions down there. good morning, annie. >> reporter: hey, steve and allison, good morning to you. yeah, you know, we left d.c. early this morning. we're still making our way to saint mary's county. it's about 60 miles southeast of d.c. we are going well below posted speed for obvious reasons. we took route five. route five seemed okay. it was manageable, driveable. you could see the pavement. there were plenty of cars on the roadway this morning but as soon as we hit 301 and as we head farther south, this dicey. if you look right now, i mean, we're on a road that you can see those big chunks of icy hard snow. it's giving us a little bit of traction but very little pavement here and it looks like the roads are barely touched and if you look at the side streets they're definitely not touched. so, plows are certainly making their way but when you wake up in the morning and you look out, you'll see that fresh coat of white snow outside your neighborhood homes. those won't be plowed for another couple of hou
