"action news" reporter annie mccormick is lie. there will be a palpable sense of sorrow there tonight. >> reporter: and, jim, there already is and family friends and colleagues are describing two sides of joyce craig, one is a tough firefighter who was never afraid of danger, the other the devoted mother of two. well, tonight begins two days of remembering her. she was the first female firefighter from the city of philadelphia to die in the line of duty. a police escort brought the family members of fallen firefighter joyce craig to the batchelor brothers funeral home in west oak lane. they filed inside as craig's firefighter brothers and sisters greeted them on either side. the devoted mother leaves behind a 16-year-old son and 16 month old girl. the decorated firefighter put in 11 years with the philadelphia fire department beginning her career with the 178th cadet class. she worked her way up the ranks to her fourth and final station, engine 64.

"action news" reporter annie mccormick following this story closely for us. on what we know right now. hi, annie. >> reporter: hi, brian that's right. siegel is still at a hospital in critical condition at a south jersey hospital tonight. police do tell us that after he arrived home to his pleasantville home from taking his children to school is when the shooting did occur. now his family and also his attorney tell us tonight that he was not the intended target. around 9:00 a.m. this morning investigators say it was here in the 800 block of spruce avenue in pleasantville atlantic county where a 911 call brought officers to the outside of philadelphia rapper beanie sigel's home. police say the rapper whose real name is dwight grant was slot in the stomach and the bullet skited out his back. another man found at the scene only had minor injuries. pleasantville police chief jose ruiz tells us the second man appeared to have been in a scuffle but was in the shot. siegel underwent surgery today. his long time attorney spoke to us just a short time ago. >> i spoke t
