in answer to the specific question is the congress asked and we simply disagree and think that the u.s. forces are planning a constrained supporting role in a multinational coalition whose operations are both legitimized by and limited to the terms of a u.n. security council resolution and as we made clear yesterday the u.s. forces are not engaged in a kind of hostilities and vision by the war powers resolution to the u.s. operations do not involve a number of elements traditionally associated with hostilities including sustained fighting or active exchanges of fire with hostile forces. the presence of u.s. ground troops, let me reiterate what a single u.s. ground troops in the libya now or ever come u.s. casualties also lack of u.s. casualties are a serious threat thereof or any chance of escalation to conflict characterized by the factors. our conclusion, therefore, that these constraints and limit the operations to not amount to hostilities under the war power resolution is consistent with the war power resolution put forward by the administrations of both political parties dating back to the statutes of 1973 enactment. i think that that is a comprehensive and

answer than i gave you. that is that we stand by the contributions in afghan, the military and civilian personnel, and along with other military and personnel that are part of the coalition. the fact that we understand some concerns that president karzai has made in the past and general petraeus has worked with him on civili civili civili civili civili civili civilian casualities, and we are there and we believe that the objectives we seek to achieve in afghanistan are objectives good for the afghan people and the afghan government. the ultimate defeat of the al-qaeda, the breaking of the taliban, and stabilizing the afghan security forces. we understand that we have disagreement sometimes and we understand that president karzai and others are frustrated but we work with them on that. but we are proud of the progress that they have made. >> regarding russia (inaudible) and ask the president to be relected next year. >> president obama? >> yes. >> so do i. >> does he hope that medvedev will be relected next year? >> that's good, that's clever. i haven't asked him. >> jay. >> thank you, in your reaction to hearing the president today, and did the president learn anything f
