the i am making it clear to the japanese he won't be back in antarctica. him to be free. pete is really a hero for what he did. we support him 100%. >> larry: the international whaling commission, iwc has been meeting in morocco, what has come of that? >> well, in my points it's the biggest waist of tax money i have ever seen. so far earlier this week, a brit, newspaper revealed there is all kind of corruption. japan is buying votes, buying and offering prostitutes to delegates of several countries. i thought that was going to be the main topic on this iwc that is here in agadir, morocco, it is not. yesterday it was a small victory for the whales when there was the plans to uplift the ban on whaling fortunately that is in place. still, commercial whaling is not allowed. yeah, japan, iceland, norway will continue illegal whaling. >> larry: not allowed, done. japan slammed the sea shepherd during the iwc gathering saying the attacks are becoming more aggressive. are they? >> what they mean they're becoming more effective. we save 528 whales this last season

we're seeing more and more of these failures and we saw part of antarctica, shed off in a few days. somebody was looking at satellite map's and away it went. that caused sea levels to rise. that mechanism is not well represented in models or understood very well. sea level rise by itself is gentle three feet of rise may not do too much but when it's couple with high tides and storms and el nino, by maybe close to a foot do things like this. this is 1983 in san diego area. and well, let's go on to the next one. that shows the actual sea level record. in the pay delta, it's not just sea level rises but the fact that we have fresh water floods. this is the level that ice street water gauge in sacramento. darn this thing. okay. those are tides. mostly a summer period, but these are floods so you can see, you know the water levels get up to nine meters there. there's a book called, conquering the inner sea which is a history of levies in sacramento valley and trying to contain the water. the fact is, this sort of thing could potentially get more frequent and potentially higher. i don't w

secondly, we all here about the poles shrinking in antarctica, based on this you see they play a bigger roll with respect to water and reflection from the sun. there are things you need to know. we don't need fearful people. many of us are managers that make hard decisions in investments we need to be empowered and knowledgeable. this looks at a state of the art of what's fake, real , fact or fiction about global warming. we have to make up indecisions, it may go 25 feet but some of us won't be here in 150 years. we have to know what's available to us in the next 25 years so you have to get in your mind the range of possibilities. finally the worst thing we can do and i'm a general manager of a water district, is to believe we are not going to have to build this investment because we could flip the switch and the trends we see will continue from ten to 20 years. you understand that? we're not going back to our customers and say we're going to do greenhouse emissions and do things to stop it. first of all, we don't control the whole world, we can only do what we can do and that's a lot s
