eyewitness news reporter anthony johnson is live in linden for us tonight with more. anthony? >> reporter: well, sade, parents were alerted to the emergency through the reverse 911 system. the students were dismissed from school around 11:00 this morning. all of this being done in an abundance of caution. students at linden high school were rushed out of the building after nearly 20 cafeteria workers complained of trouble breathing and throat irritation. >> i didn't really know the real reason. that's why i was confused this whole time wondering why this whole thing happened. nowhere. >> reporter: school officials say they moved to clear everyone out as a precaution and let emergency crews find the cause. >> their investigation is unfounded. the fire department has said that it's very possible that the workers were exposed to pepper spray. >> reporter: a similar incident took place tuesday at west babylon high school where 35 students and faculty were hospitalized and treated after two students discharged mayes inside the -- mace inside the school. officials in linden are tryi

anthony johnson there with the details. we just got word from cal temple. they're telling us the man making -- the person that is the suspect in this case was not a member of the calvary temple but certainly the allegations against him at this point in time are considered to be very v unsettling. this all taking place the week before last. michael pritchard is accused of making contact in a sexual nature with a large group of teenage girls, 14 of them who had volunteered to help feed senior citizens during a special holiday season event. authorities haven't said if pritchard tried to abuse the girls individually or when some or all of them were all together. the incident took place mainly in the kitchen at the calvary temple on december 6th questions remain whether the 35 suspect was able to sexually they were trying to be helpful to a group of senior citizens. the suspect charged with 14 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 14 counts of engaging in sexual conduct. if pritchard is found guilty he could face five years behind bars for each victim

new jersey reporter anthony johnson is at the school where a school board meeting will be held tonight. anthony? >> reporter: sade and rob, the lawyer for the teacher was in court earlier today. we are here at the elementary school and high school where the meeting will be taking place later on this evening to determine that teacher's fate. she is accused of mishandling children who were the most vulnerable. she has been accused of being aggressive with two young children with disabilities while she was in charge of their care and instruction. the 30-year-old teacher from butler, new jersey works at the 16th avenue elementary school in elmwood park. according to the police report, a 9-year-old called by initials j.l. was pushed down causing him to hit his head on a piece of furniture. that apparently happened in the school at the beginning of this month. >> troubling to hear about that. she is supposed to be trained to deal with special kids. so, you have to be patient. >> i think further backgrounds should be going on that a 30- year-old woman is abusing children. so, i don't know. i

anthony johnson is in newark with the very latest. >> reporter: all right, i can hear you now. let me just tell you how bold and brazen these guys were. they were able to go ahead and rob a gas station across the street, then they would speed and rob this exxon gas station directly behind me. all of this taking place in a one-hour period this morning between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. >> the black infinity rolls up to the gas station, and the robbers target a busy attendant who was trying to deal with a customer. the robber gets out of the car and forces the attendant to hand over the money. the crime happens in a matter of seconds, and it appears the customer who brought gas drives away quickly, maybe realizing what's taking place. the robber gets back into the car which pulls away in a hurry. this shot of the infinity vehicle pulling out shows it barely missed oncoming traffic during the escape. the gas station cameras are so good they were able to supply a license plate tag to police. investigators were on the scene of five early morning robberies trying to gather video and clues. a
