court further to the right and it has little to do with the nominee and everything to do with anthony kennedy who announced at the end of june he was leaving. he often voted with the liberals, you know. he was the swing justice. those days are gone because whoever trump nominates, whether it's brett kavanaugh or if brett kavanaugh's nomination doesn't go through, it's someone else, that someone else will be more conservative than anthony kennedy. that will move the court to the right. so, you know, the stakes are high for the republicans. they want to get the kavanaugh nomination through and get this nomination finished before the midterm elections. that's the key thing here. if this nomination for some reason doesn't succeed and they have to have a new confirmation hearing, for a new nominee, i would think two things are going to happen. one is the fbi's going to be very careful with the background investigation next time around. that will take some time and the average time to confirm a supreme court justice right out of the box is about 60, 70 days. there isn't enough time to do that even
