they searched a house south of the cities belonging to a 63-year-old man, anthony quinn warner. an rv can be seen in warner's backyard. well, that rv matches the photo and description of the one that police say exploded downtown. nbc's shaq brewster is there with the latest. what is nbc saying about this possibility? >> reporter: this was the fbi acting on one of the more 500 leads and tips that they say they have received since that christmas morning bombing that of course took them to the home of that 63-year-old man in antioch, tennessee. that's about 15 minutes away from where i'm standing. you mentioned this but i think it bears repeating. two senior law enforcement officials tell nbc news that they have not gathered enough evidence to point to any particular motive. you said that they're not calling this man a suspect and they're not even calling him a person of interest at this point. but it's clear with the searches that we've been seeing and then spending time at his home yesterday that there is a level of interest and attention that they are giving to him. now these of

reporter: federal law enforcement confirms to nbc news they are searching the home of 63-year-old anthony quinn warner in connection with the christmas morning bombing in nashville. the explosion's aftermath, now a crime scene in the heart of downtown. that investigators describe as a massive jigsaw puzzle, with pieces of evidence blown for blocks in every direction. >> we will find out the story of this individual, or individuals. we don't know right now. but this is the ultimate scrooge who, on christmas morning, instead of spreading joy and cheer, decided to spread destruction. >> reporter: it began before dawn, when heroic police officers, responding to a call of shots fired, found this mysterious rv parked on 2nd o avenue. >> they saw an rv giving out a message saying it would detonate in 15 minutes. instead of taking it as maybe a threat and calling it in and getting resources, they immediately began knocking on doors. >> reporter: confident their decision to evacuate immediately saved lives. >> so had they not done that, we would be talking about people as well with the destruction that

and that was the home of 63-year-old anthony quinn warner. he is the man who according to multiple senior federal law enforcement officials, they tell nbc news that he is being -- his home is being searched in connection with yesterday's bombing. they are not calling him a suspect. they're not even using the term "person of interest" at this time. you do know when you see the video of them going through his home, taking pictures and looking into any connection that there may be. now we also know that there is that massive blast area that these fbi agents are going through. we know they were combing through it today. they will continue combing through it tomorrow, going block by block. it's a massive area. you see the images of how widespread that damage. it will take them a little bit of time to process that. one thing that they did find at that is what they're calling human tissue. some possible remains that they are going to go ahead and investigate to see if that is connected to any key detail. but if you go through that timeline again, wh

anthony quinn warner was named as the suspect yesterday by investigators. and just the day before, we spent hours watching federal agents in his home, collecting evidence. this was processed relatively fast in identifying him. they found enough fragments of that rv in the explosion to have a vehicle identification number leading to the owner. they also found human tissue at the blast site. and they had quantico process that dna very quickly, along with dna from family members. late last night, as you mentioned, police released this new video of the explosion, this orange glow in that harrowing moment. that's exactly how the responding officers described that to us. the type of explosives used still under investigation, but now those businesses are in ruins. that includes a tattoo parlor owned by pete gibson. he told me that he had actually seen that very rv in the previous weeks. >> i pulled up in my car and it was parked in a spot that i always park in, which was right in front of the shop. and i was really upset that about, for no reason, just kind of sal
