antonia, what are officials there telling you? >> hey, chris. so here the dcu center in worcester, there are doctors and staff members working 12-hour shifts right now to get this field hospital up and ready to accept patients starting december 6th. to put this situation in context. here in the worcester area, doctors tell me there are patients getting boarded into hospitals but sitting around waiting for access to beds. as soon as the dcu center is open, patients are going to be able to walk through these doors and there are already doctors waiting to send patients here. some of the doctors with the umass memorial team running this field site are feeling frustrated right now that the state is back at square one. take a listen to this conversation i had with dr. eric dickson, the ceo of umass memorial. >> it's incredibly frustrating. by and large, health care workers have played by the rules. they've worn their masks, social distanced. but yet, because everyone didn't do that, they are now put in a situation where they are getting exposed to thi

antonia, what are the new rules there? what are you hearing? >> hey, chris. i'm in morristown, new jersey. just yesterday, governor murphy announced a new set of restrictions that primarily target the food service and hospitality industries here. and this is coming on the heels of a big uptick in cases. to give you a sense of the landscape. between last thursday and monday morning they added about 9,500 new confirmed cases and 11 new deaths bringing the state's death total up. governor murphy felt he had to act on this. starting on thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. there will be no indoor dining or beverage service at all at any indoor establishments. and there will be no more indoor interstate sports games. so if you have a high school or playing hockey, they'll no longer be able to do sbraiinter travel and play those games indoors. as i've spoken to business owners around here, it's the people running the diners, the bars that are open late night who are most concerned right now. and i spent some time last night with a man named ryan fitzgerald who runs

antonia hylton joining us from morristown, new jersey, where restaurants and bars are bracing for this change. tell us about these new restrictions and what you're hearing from business owners there. >> reporter: hey, craig. so around 1:00 p.m. yesterday we heard from governor murphy here in new jersey that a new set of restrictions are going to go into effect starting thursday. they're primarily going to target food service hospitality industry. this is coming on the heels of a big uptick in cases. in the state we're at a death toll of 16,440 people. governor murphy felt compelled to act quickly before the holidays. what i'm hearing from business owners, particularly the key constituency here, is people who are running restaurants, bars, diners and lounges that are open late at night. i'm actually standing right in front of a diner opened by a man named peter who has owned this spot for nearly two decades. he's nervous about what the next round of restrictions will mean going into the holiday season. >> things are getting tough. we thought we got over the hump but now we're getting a second wave and it's starting to get tough again. i believe there will be another shutdown. >> oh, wow. >> i belie
