((brittany edney)) >> a barricade situation here hour ago. and luckily, no one was injured. investigators tell us this all started when they responded to a call about a strong-armed robbery at a store on the 5300 block of south fort apache. that call led police to an apartment complex along russell where metro says a suspect holed inside the apartment then led police on a short foot pursuit before being taken into custody. swat and negotiators were then called in to assist with a se for hours-- the suspect refused to come out... ultimately, metro says he forced swat to go in and they were able to arrest him without anyone getting injured. with parts of west russell blocked off-- dozens of residents had to wait along the streets for the situation to play out. it's a situation shocking some of the parents nearby.
