when we had the sit-in in the apitol, you may recall, a year and a half ago, the action taken by our republican colleagues and leadership was to investigate who on the floor, facebook, whatever technology they used, what was happening on the floor to the public. that was their response to gun iolence at the time. so we'll be meeting and hoping that the public will weigh in a serious way. ecause again, the number of -- [inaudible] -- in the years since, well, in the past year, let me just put it that way. but every day, every week, our country suffers from gun violence. do you have any questions on this? eporter: so, the assault weapons ban repeal sunset in 2004-2005. you mentioned that, about the purchasing weapons on the internet. do you think that those two factors, the fact that they didn't remove the assault weapons ban in 2004-2005, and the emergence of the ability to purchase weapons online, that that is changing because there's just a sheer gigantic number of weapons out there? and no matter how good your systems are to track them, that somebody can get them, mental health nor
