let's move to apple. the reasons that the nasdaq is down yet the dow jones industrials are on the upside. i looked at 45 and that was t--s able to see. 32 out of the 45 have buys on apple. the wall street journal had a great article saying there may be two other bailouts of greece coming. merkel is having a much tougher time because the german electorate doesn't want any part of any more bailouts. they want a small european union with less members. less appetite for any kind of bailout. this could have big implications in what goes on in greece. finally on this verizon mult multi-deal here. a lot of people are saying it's going to be easy to absorb this because the bond players, this is going to be in the indexes and all the players indexed to the bond are going to buy this. there are going to be a lot of buyers for this. when stock traders talk about bond deals, you know it's a big deal. back to you. >> thank you so much, bob. let's go to rick santelli. >> thanks, jim. i'm glad everybody's talking about

you can well imagine that a lot of the people at the apple keynote are going to be huge fans of the applet here you have technology that might not even use apple. i spoke to a guy who whipped out his nokia. other people said they look forward to the possibility of having a cheaper iphone. in terms of talking about the features, we know it's going to be faster, ahead of the actual key note we don't know for certain what the knew features are going to be, but expectations are there is going to be a nicer camera and bigger screen, so these are features we expect, but, again, i think it's really important to keep this all in context. there are other smartphones on the market now. the iphone is no longer king, and a lot of people outside of the technology world might not know this, but the android market surpassed the iphone market a couple of years ago. so it's interesting that the iphone still gets so much attention. there will be a number of comparisons between the iphone and android. >> it used to be when apple releases a new iphone was released, the whole world stopped to listen, but now

we were talking about apple.e hedge fund traders last night, i was surprised how enthusiastic they are about all of this fingerprint technology. yes, potentially it could mean the end of passwords. i think that's a great idea. i do not want apple storing fingerprint information on some massive server somewhere that they can do who knows what with. if they do it, store it locally on the iphone. i'd be a big supporter as long as they don't go scoring the fingerprint information. other than that the big story is about china mobile. 745 million subscribers they've got. they need to add china mobile, apple does, to their subscriber list, to the people that they're selling iphones with. i've heard estimates that 11%, china mobile, 11% of all subscribers in the world. that's going to be a big one. they've got a separate event, apple, in beijing today. that's why last night everybody thought this thing with china mobile was going to happen. my personal wish for apple, how about making seri into a true assistant? you can

there is more buzz about apple. the ipad 5 and ipad mini 2, which analysts say may launch next month. boeing mangers have been called to norway to explain continuing technical problems with its 787 dreamliner. norwegian air asked for the meeting after what reuters called a slew of technical issues over the weekend with two 787's jets. a norweigan air spokesperson told reuters that aircraft failed to have the kind of reliability it expected and that something must happen fast to address the problems. boeing says in a statement: "we are disappointed to have issues so early in our 787 operations and are working with norwegian to address them and return each airplane to service in as timely a manner as possible" u-s airways and american airlines agree to extend the merger deadline. each company will now have until january 18th to terminate the proceedings. the earlier deadline was december 17th. the news comes as the two airlines fight a u-s department of justice lawsuit that seeks to kill the merger. that federal trial

apple c.e.o. has unveiled two new iphones and we will have a report on what the company is revealing about the >> apple is peeling back the curtain on the new replacement for the iphone 5. the long awaited reveal is happening right now and the company's cupertino headquarters abc7 news reporter matt keller is there. what are they offering? author offering bright colors here on the front of their building at the apple headquarters. it matches the invitation sents out that said this should brighten everyone's day. but of course everyone was looking for the next big thing. the inphone 5 is going to be replaced by two iphones coming in five colors. apple says it will be blazingly fast and efficient and it will cost $99 with a two year contract. they are known for high end and high price and well designed products but the announcement of the less expensive iphone c mean they are going after a different consumer. >> it could break off from the brand but that would be a good with the next billion or two

which brings me too apple. for years apple traded differently from all other tech stocks. it traded more like a biotech stock where you look at what could be in the pipeline, try to put a high multiple on it with the presumption there are products we don't even know about that could be revealed in the future, like when a biotech comes up with a new drug. if you value on the prosaic stream of ipads, ipods, macs and iphones, you undervalue it. that's how people thought about apple. you were looking at a snapshot of the enterprise, not a continuum. that's why the market used to pay a high multiple for apple earnings, because you expected a big up year. but in the last 18 months analysts didn't believe there was much in the pipeline. many questioned whether there could be anything earth shaking that would allow apple's earnings per share to really rise. why analysts don't talk much to each other, they have a bit of a group think, a mentality about how their universe of companies is is doing. the last few weeks, as we got closer to the launch of the new iphones, almost collecti
