apple question. what do you think of it given the huge weekend they've had? lots of profits in the iphones. you buy or hold off? >> i'm fully weighted in apple. there's a stock that fits all my metrics. pays dividends, trading at the market p/e, not overvalued. my anecdotal evidence like everybody else you've been talking about is extremely positive on the sell in on this platform. they are sold out of the iphone plus. there is huge demand. i predict 12 mill on the preorder basis. this is going to accelerate earnings on the platforms they sell into. in other words all the software components. i like apple for the next year. you can question what the long-term prognosis is as it slowly drifts into becoming a consumer electronics company. these are fantastic numbers. let's not forget the nice fat juicy dividend growing. what else is tim cook going to do with the money aside from sending it back to me. >> coming out of the weekend this was flat. seemed like there was so much outperformance. it is at the market p/e. why do you think it's not above it? is it concern about chooip? what is the con

some of what happened last week there was the sale of the apple iphone. there was the fed news. and, of course, the alibaba ipo. so there hasn't been a lot of real new news today. the news that came out about china and accepting a lower growth rate perhaps has kind of put a little bit of a damper on things. and the nasdaqtypically will be more sensitive to that kind of selloff than the s&p. >> bertha was talking about a lot of big momentum names coming hammered here. we have seen this story before. what do we learn from that particular lesson with the names being hit earlier this year? >> we are value investors so we think it is important to get back to fundamentals just because the stock has gone up a lot doesn't mean it will go up a lot more going forward especially as the valuation gets disconnected from the valuation. so if you in a momentum stock because you think good news will beget more good news. if the momentum does slow you don't have the fundamental strength underneath the stock to support the valuation. we would be wary. again, we pretty much always are. >> what is

to our lead story, apple is supposed to be shining brightly after its record 10 million iphones in the opening weekend. but the glow is starting to rub off dues to some technical difficulties. apple had to pull its ios eight update after some customers could not make phone calls. after reports that apps were crashing 56% more often. adding to the problems, a number of users complaining the new ones band when sitting in your pocket with this video showing an iphone 6 plus getting very badly bent. joining me is cory johnson and research analyst, and the man behind that viral bending ipod video. we spoke to you about the iphone 6 plus which did not fare well after the ben test. you went on to test the iphone 6. what happened? >> the six did much better as i expected it would, the fact that it had smaller form factor. i put as much pressure as i could in the same location and attempted to bend it in the same fashion. tiny littlead a bent to it, but nothing significant and completely usable. this point i'm willing to say based on that little piece of evidence that the six is going to be a l

apple, first of all, is going all out to disprove claims that the iphone 6 plus is prone to bending. a lot of the up roar started after this video showing a guy bending a 6 plus went viral. yesterday apple invited media to its test facility saying the iphone 6 is the most tested product in apple history. the company also reiterating a claim that only 9 customers total complained about those phones bending. looking at this video it does seem there is some pretty rigorous testing that goes on. but give some of these complaints away to social media and we see what happens. >> what happens with this stuff, we are talking a multimillion dollar launch apple does and there are a lot of people and companies with a stake in it not going well. so there are questions even about this original video. it's interesting when he's bending the phone there is a certain time on it. 2:20 something. and when he shows it bent the time is earlier. a lot of people online are raising the question. is the video faked? did they bend multiple phones and the video of the apple's testing facility is legit because w
