an appleton teen has died - after giving up treatment to fight an incurable disease. 14 year old jerika bolen died today. back in july, more than one thousand people went to a prom thrown in her honor. it was held just before she went into hospice, rather than continue treatment. she suffered from spinal muscular atrophy type 2, which destroys nerve cells that control walgreen's is joining the fight to keep prescription drugs out of the hands of those who might misuse them. the company is placing new, safe medication disposal kiosks for prescription and over the counter drugs at 18 of its locations around the state. the new walgreens kiosks join those already available at many law enforcement and other government buildings. they're free to use and come with no questions asked. "you're going to stop at places like this frequently so just something up bring something to drop off if you got it in your medicine cabinet at home because doing that could save the life of someone you love." governor walker also signed an executive order today to create the governor's task force on opioid abuse.
