important issue, which goes to the very question of what is the role of government, what is the appropriate way for a capitalist economy to succeed because all three of us believe in the capitalist economy but how do we get that economy to function best and how do we deal with the market failures and the inequities which have left us with a stark contrast between the people who have a lot and the many who have very little, as well as the middle class which is getting very squeezed. we have a different sense about the vision for america. raspberry will argue that government regulations are bad for the economy and public investments harm free enterprise. democrats have a more optimist being vision. we believe that the economy works best when the government establishes the rules of the road, adopting sensible standards, protecting the middle class, promoting competition and preventing corporate abuses. we believe public investments in our country's future will pay off. we believe that educating tomorrow's workers, supporting entrepreneurs, new industries will grow our economy faster and better
