it's the first day of april, 2010. in the news at this hour, investigators are still piecing together evidence that led to one of the worst shootings in d.c. history. nine people were hit by bullets in a drive-by shooting in southeast washington on tuesday night. four of them died, all teenagers. now police say they were all gathered outside after the funeral of another murder victim. right now, police have three suspects in custody. one man is suspected in both tuesday night's murders and the murder of the man whose funeral was held last night. one other suspect is still believed to be at large. it's yet another tragedy in the district, another act of violence in a deadly cycle that is claiming the lives of the young. tracee wilkins joins us live from southeast washington where the pain is still very fresh. good morning, tasey. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. absolutely. because of the number of people who were shot and killed on that corner, it's almost as if everyone in this community has some kind of connection

kind of a gray april day. you got to have some of those. 48 degrees, that's a chilly current temperature at dwi. we got in to the 50s today. northeast wind is chilly. bringing in 12 miles per hour breeze gusting more than that. through the day our weather net camera getting doused by rain and showers all day long at the maryland science center. it was a wet day. spots picking up average at a quarter of an inch of rain. see the daily rainfall totals out there many spots below a 10á9 of an inch. baltimore through laurel. manchester closer to a third of an inch there. if you were under a downpour, like towards darlington there, rainfall totals were a bit higher. it has been gusty, gusts up to 21. temperatures statewide, cooler than the 70s yesterday. close to 30-degree cool down, maybe 25-degree cool down. the numbers will drop off maybe another 5- 7 degrees overnight. chilly northwest wind, more of a northeast breeze at the moment. winds from the north, keeping things on the cool side also. rain cooling from all

this is the first back-to-back april 90 degree days. we hit 90 yesterday going back to way back since 2002. it's been eight years since we had days like this. look at the high we did have today. we k reach near 90 in prince george's county. arlington, fairfax and montgomery counties hit 90 degrees. 90 degrees around shenandoah valley. temperatures there in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. it hit 60s to near 70s out in the shenandoah valley. the pollen count is extremely high, nearly tripling from the day before. 4,000 grade per cubic meter. that is extremely high. it's mostly oak tree pollen. we have not seen pollen counts this high since early april in 12 years. view from space showing a few clouds drifting over right now. cloud cover acting like a blanket holding in the afternoon warmth. the big change is beginning to approach us with showers. a cold front will move our way here by later on this afternoon. the warmth will be exiting tonight. we'll have that front coming through late afternoon tomorrow into the early evening hours. th
