it's the first day of april, 2010. in the news at this hour, investigators are still piecing together evidence that led to one of the worst shootings in d.c. history. nine people were hit by bullets in a drive-by shooting in southeast washington on tuesday night. four of them died, all teenagers. now police say they were all gathered outside after the funeral of another murder victim. right now, police have three suspects in custody. one man is suspected in both tuesday night's murders and the murder of the man whose funeral was held last night. one other suspect is still believed to be at large. it's yet another tragedy in the district, another act of violence in a deadly cycle that is claiming the lives of the young. tracee wilkins joins us live from southeast washington where the pain is still very fresh. good morning, tasey. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. absolutely. because of the number of people who were shot and killed on that corner, it's almost as if everyone in this community has some kind of connection

our april now, get this our april is now 1 degree cooler than average. that's if it were the month of may. we are 11.58 degrees warmer than ample for april and since may is usually so much warmer, we're only a degree cooler than average. had it been the first half of the month of may. crazy stuff out there. no doubt about it. this early april has been exceptionally warm. temperatures around the rest of the area on your tuesday, where the light rain showers have settled in for longer periods of time, temperatures have held in the mid to high 40s right now. still waiting on steadier rain drops down into southern maryland. as a result, temperatures are just a hint warmer all the way down in st. mary's city temperatures in the upper 50s. live doppler, you can see drizzle drops and spring offals across much of loudoun and month gomry counties, also rain drops being found in southern cal vert county. the steadier rain showers are for the most part still up across the pennsylvania, maryland border. so far rainfall amounts exceptionally light. only.02 rain in ma

this is typical for this mid- late part of april, i guess you'd call it. as we look at the satellite view, one little round of cloud cover now. then clearing and our next storm system is beginning to approach out of the south and west and a chance late in the day. it's not that impressive of a storm to be honest with you. we'll see scattered showers but not a prolonged soaking rain at least. cool conditions north of us right now. we're milder today even though we're getting a bit of a north wind from the great lakes. this weather system will bring us a shot of rain. the forecast model will begin to bring it in and any rain will make the evening commute a real headache. after we go past sunset tomorrow night, these showers fizzle out it would appear. as we go through the night on thursday, passing cloud cover and a little bit of drizzle. i think thursday is looking relatively dry and that will be a good thing. tonight, 47, generally cloudy and mild out there, quiet. tomorrow into the day, we'll start off dry and there will be the chance for some of the show
