you're gonna see that in our conversation all about this latest albums from the arc of life, which was collaboration with his friend, the pianist kathryn stott. here's yo-yo ma in studio q. and i know i'm talking to a fellow musician., song >> shad: you are talking to a fellow musician. and this is a concept album, which i love. >> yo-yo: yeah. well, you know, it's so funny, because i'm, um, i'm about to enter into my 60th year. um, you know, so what happens when you're 60? um, i don't know. i mean, i thought about it and kathy and i thought about it and said, now, we've always wanted to do an album of pieces that we really loved." >> shad: mm hmm. >> yo-yo: but we felt that was". so for years, we'd sort of, like, put that on hold and say, "well, you know, one day we're gonna do something like this." and, um, and it wasn't until we thought about the fact that we've been working together and been friends for over 30 years and that, that's a pretty long period of time. >> shad: mm hmm. >> yo-yo: and, um, and, you know, a lot of adventures, a lot of, uh, going through stages in life toget

(cheers and applause) yo-yo's new latest album is "songs from the arc of life." it is dope, yo-yo! (laughter) all the hits you want from deb debussey to gershwin. like this. it's amazing. as i said, it's an honor to have him, and as i said earlier, this is our 20th show and so far it's been a lot of fun. this is my fun face. (laughter) but it's also been a voyage of self-discovery for meful you see, i spent nine years on tv lying about my identity. i am stephen colbert. but for all that time, i was stephen colbert, loud angry man with his own ice cream! all right? reporter: but now this 1.5-year-old pitbull used repeatedly for dog fighting is in of much different fight arc fight for his life. the dog dumped and left for dead by the side of the road in chester city. >> just through him over there. he was curled up in a little ball. >> reporter: this is what the dog look like when russ harper a humane police officer with justice rescue arrived at the scene after getting a call early monday night. >> he was laying over there in the weeds where somebody through him and he was just cold and lifeless. i had really thought when i pick him up that he was dead. >> reporter: when harper realized the dog he named remy was still alive, he raced the young pup to keystone veterinary emergency and referral in havertown. the staff working frantically to save remy's live. >> pretty severe injuries and his body just, um, was very weak and on top of that, severe infections from all the multiple bite wounds he's gotten. >> reporter: four days later this pooch is making amazing progress. he's now walking. even crawling into harper's lap and cuddling from something he's probably never known. t
