. >> civil rights attorney and legal affairs commentator areva martin is joining us now.dge says the detective violated court rules not once but twice. he revealed evidence that the judge had explicitly said cannot be given to the jury when he was testifying. and then he withheld evidence from both the prosecutor and the defense. could there be consequences, and should there be consequences for this police officer who who's supposed to be upholding the law? >> good morning, sara. i absolutely hope there are consequences for this police officer. it's unimaginable that this police officer would have been allowed to not turn over this key piece of evidence, and one of the pieces of evidence at issue is the videotape interview of mr. gibson after he reported this crime of being shot at, unprovoked, by this father and son. that the prosecution did not go into court before the trial began, requesting and demanding that this officer turn over this evidence and requesting perhaps that the officer be held in contempt or jailed himself for refusing to turn over the evidence -- just

diane diamond and attorney areva martin.ve been so curious about this headline and this ruling ever since i saw. let me begin with you diane, because you actually, you first broke the news about accusations of an inappropriate relationship with michael jackson, and a young boy back in 1993. and i wonder beast from, then to now, so many years have passed what was your reaction to friday's ruling, well i was not surprised because so many states -- they're old statute of limitation limitations, so i know the two men's attorney, benson aldi. i knew he wasn't going to give up, and i think it comes down to this. if the catholic church is responsible for gets priests did, and if the boy scouts are responsible for what there is scouts did, this is what the appellate court ruled. the same standard should apply to the businesses of michael jackson, even though he owned them solely himself. >> areva, i want to unpack that. people might hear this and say, wait a second, they can now go back to court and sue the jackson estate again? or

so let's bring in attorney and legal affairs commentator areva martin. these two roads would be intersecti intersecting, and now we have specifics of that. we have trial date of march 4 in the federal election subversion case. what did you make of the judge's decision to set the trial date for that day? >> it is a big victory for the prosecution. we know jack smith's team argued had they would be ready in january. donald trump's team had requested the trial date be extended out until april of 2026. so the march date obviously is a lot closer to the original date requested by the prosecution. and you have trump's team arguing that they need all of this additional time because there are so much documents and so much witnesses and it would it would be a miscarriage of justice for the trial to proceed on that calendar. but many say this is a regurgitation of the january 6 committee investigation, that the facts are simple, that donald trump is telling the truth and when you tell the truth you don't need a lot of time to prepare. so you have these conflicting
