ariel castro's two brothers are free this evening. they were also in court today answering misdemeanor charges unrelated to this case. the brothers were initially arrested with ariel but so far authorities say they haven't found any connection to the three women. >> as it relates to pedro and onil castro, no charges will be filed against these two individuals at this time. there is no evidence these two individuals had any involvement in the commission of the crimes committed against michelle, gina, amanda, and the minor child. >> police have said that castro kept everybody in their words at a distance. cnn's brooke baldwin is also in cleveland watching what is going on. she just wrapped up a powerful interview with a journalist and family friend who actually got to spend some time with one of the women, gina dejesus, earlier today. brooke, you did a really great interview with her. tell us what she told you about how gina right now is doing. >> it was absolutely stunning. i spoke with lydia espara a family friend of the gina dejesus f

her fellow prisoner, michelle knight, telling police that ariel castro punched her in the stomach until she miscarried her pregnancy. here are the charges that castro now faces, four counts of kidnapping, a count for each woman and child held as prisoner in his home and three counts of rape. cnn's brian todd was in the courtroom. and brian, i mean, i was watching this morning and almost wanted to spit out my coffee looking at this man. i know he's innocent until proven guilty, but you were in there. what was his demeanor like? >> well, brooke, it was much as you described, he looked really down and despondent. he did not make eye contact with anyone, did not look at the judge and did not make eye contact with his defense attorney. she was counseling him and his brothers through this entire court proceeding and laying out to the judge his circumstances, saying that he'd lived here for 39 years, 52 years old, he was on unemployment compensation in a seeming effort to maybe get bond reduced, but that was no sale for this judge. $2 million for each of the four cases against him, total of $8

martin savidge's exclusive interview with onil and pedro castro, the brothers of kidnapping suspect ariel castro. a lot going on this morning. first let's go live to susan candiotti. she's in cleveland. susan, the two young women who shot the video of police rushing into castro's home actually thought that they were in trouble. could you explain that? >> that's right. well, picture this. they happened to be driving down the street when they noticed some police flashing lights behind them. and so they pulled over and thought uh-oh, what did we do wrong? and then they looked in front of them, and saw everything unfolding. look. and where did you see her, amanda and her little girl? >> coming down the street. >> and then everything unfolded right here? >> yep. >> these two women happened to turn on to ariel astro's street and found themselves smack in the middle of an amazing escape to freedom. >> amanda walking down the street with a cop right when the cap asked her who are you, she passed us and said amanda berry. >> when you heard the name amanda berry and you knew exactly -- >> me and her looke
