you mentioned aristotle several times. aristotle as some of you may remember gave a list of the different forms of government as did plato and both of them listed different forms of government, aristocracy, monarchy, oligarchy and democracy and they gave democracy thelowest grade . aristotle has always been one of my great heroes but why did he give, why did he give our form ofgovernment a low-grade ? two summers ago it was my project to reread aristotle and my conclusion was that he thought democracy would not have the capacity to mature. it's our destiny to prove him wrong. the constitution itself presumes that there will be respectful productive dialogue between the branches. we talk about separation of powers, some branches of government have their own powers that congress can raise and support armies, declare war. the court has cases. so these are powers that they have but there's also checks and balances and that means thebranches must work together .we every year send members of our court to the congress to say that

aristotle was another one that discussed the meaning of life . there were people like camo, people like russo who talked about the meaning of life and then there were the great religious leaders. people like augustine, people like aquinas who talked about the meaning of life and one other thing they talked about , at least plato did because he talked about the eternal nature of the soul. they had a discussion also about if there is a life everlasting, how does what we do here affect what we do there? i'd like you to think about that for a second. we talk about it atcollege, the meaning of life . we talk about it when we bury somebody we love. it gets late into the night and that's when our families get to be the closest . we talk about it when we have a fantastic wedding. and we danced and we have a great time and the bride is dancing with dad and the groom is dancing with mom and then we have our drinks and then we gather. and i've been there many times. you see, it's important for us to think about those things. and it's important to think abou

aristotle taught mathematics can't really prescribed -- or describe our world.on when the christian church agreed, geometry was very nice but our world is a fallen and corrupt world. certainly not something that can be described by geometry. geometry gets all the praise. it pleased god to bestow our mankind but it's also irrelevant because our world is something like that. that lasts for about 1700 years. by euclid until -- simple mathematic truth but until 1400, until pretty much the year 1400 and 13. not a famous year for most people but it's a year in which a man by the name of felipe conducting experiments on perspective. when you're perspective and then he has an artist inflator on, they developed and established a theory of linear perspective. initially it is a theory of how to draw things, how to paint three dimensions on a flat surface. basically there's a vanishing. you can draw a vanish -- anyway, there's a system that is on the horizon, this is a perspective exercise because you can see yeah, it's doing what he wants. like to get back to this. oh. any
