today, a dirty fight over clean power in arizona. pitting arizona's utilities against tom steyer. joining me now, stephen munro in washington. what is this about? stephen: it's about money and dirty words. there's a couple of parties exchanging hot rhetoric. alix: in terms of the actual proposition, what are they fighting over? stephen: the voters of arizona have been asked to approve a 50% renewable energy standard to take effect in 2030. the main utilities and the state oppose that strongly because they have a lot of embedded assets that don't use renewable energy. you have these two irreconcilable forces pitted against each other. alix: what kind of money are we talking here? you look at the type of money that tom steyer's group has poured into it, it is tremendous. who will have the upper hand here? stephen: tom steyer's organization has been outspent by the utilities organization. to the tune of about $22 million as opposed to $19 million, according to last reports. both parties are throwing a lot of money into this race. the po

the only contrary state now is arizona. remains within the margin of error but moving marginally in the direction of the republicans. >> sean: florida is too close to call. i think we hold tennessee. i do think claire mccaskill loses. i think that project veritas tape has hurt her. her lying about her rv trip, voting reliably schumer has hurt her. t she is a moderate. i think you're right about nevada. i think kyrsten sinema is in trouble because as more and more -- tester is going to be a tight race. indiana, if they don't hold libertarian, we hold that. interestingly, even west virginia is in play. even new jersey might be in play. >> i think the democrats t will hold new jersey, hold tester and it won't be three or four, i rhink it will be a couple of seats but clearly the republicans are poised to hold the senate as the democrats win the house. >> sean: john, you do say republicans can come back. what is it going to take forto them to make up that five seat deficit if we are all right? we are all agreeing. a little behi

in arizona congressional district number two, peterson is waging a competitive race for that seat.n california we have two races with very competitive candidates in orange county and southern california. there's a very competitive race again in florida district 26 with incumbent carlos been challenged by powell. in florida 27, maria is the republican candidate seeking to replace diana ros-lehtinen. in new mexico, an attorney taking on the republican bear to try to be the second latino elected to congress from new mexico. state senator in west virginia, and in the race to replace speaker ryan, ironworker rangy price is actually launching a very competitive race in wisconsin. so in the best scenario for us that are currently 34 latinas in the u.s. house. in many of these candidates prevailed we think that maybe as many as ten additional members of the u.s. house of representatives who are latinos and latinas. bringing the number of from 34 to 41. that would be an historic high in terms of the number of latinos who are serving in the u.s. house of representatives. still not representa
