what a test arizona is going to be. you have mark kelly, the incumbent democrat trying to win in what is overall a tough political atmosphere. if this is the republican slate, leaning into all of that 2020 rhetoric, all those 2020 claims, is that a bridge too far for swing voters in arizona, who might be disappointed with biden, might not be happy with the democrats overall and might with a more generic slate of republican candidates be more inclined to vote for them just to send a message to democrats. that's typically what we see in midterm elections. in georgia and pennsylvania i think we're going to see that tested, the normal willingness of swing voters to go to the opposition party in a midterm is going to be tested. it will be interesting to watch play out. >> now, it is almost ten after 6:00 for the west coast. let's talk about the political earthquake that happened in the middle of the country in kansas. this is a state that over the past 50 years has never voted for a democrat in any presidential contest. they

but this is the way it goes in arizona. we get just this massive, massive batch of votes from all of these counties. just after 11:00 eastern. and it's going to slow down. once you get that initial batch from -- a big one to come in by the. white pima county, second biggest in the state where tucson is, let's look to see where that lights up. that will add a little bit more clarity. once you get these initial batches in arizona from all of these counties, we will get some more as the night progresses, that'll be votes that were casted in person today. and again i think it's way tomorrow there's gonna be a pause there, and you are gonna get more ballots released tomorrow. maybe in the next coming days after that. depending on how close this is, again it's a process that may not wrap up tonight. but i think just looking at the early, initial votes that we get right here, that is very good news for karen taylor robeson, and that's a concerning early number for carey lake. because carrie leakey just given the lead that she had

it can take days in arizona.line in trying to understand this race is that taylor robson was expected to do better with this initial batch of votes than the votes that will be later reported out. so she needed in this initial batch to get a pad over kari lake. she's done that. now we're going to find out is that pad big enough to with stand the remaining votes that are to be counted. the other marquee race in arizona, you could see the republican senate race. this is for the right to run against mark kelly, the democratic senator. again, same big batch of early votes. you can see here the trump-backed candidate blake masters, is slight lead but does have a lead with the early vote. if those trump-favored candidates are doing better with the vote that's yet to be counted, that's a notable difference. kari lake is down nine points in the initial batch of votes. she's backed by trump, down nine points. masters is backed by trump, up four points with the initial batch of votes. he might be sitting in a much better po

you're a doctor in arizona which has a preroe v.e ban on the books, though a judge is not set to rule whether that still stands until later in september. so you're kind of in limbo there. how is it affecting you and your practice right now? >> well, thank you the opportunity to shed only light on what's going on here in arizona. it has been exhausting, frustrating, an emotional roller coaster to be on, as not only someone who is a provider of abortion care, but also someone who owns an abortion clinic in this state. i did not go to medical school to keep track of this legal activity that we need to be intimately involved with to proceed safely and provide abortion care for the people who need it in our state. >> has the back and forth been confusing to you as a health care provider, what you're allowed to do? >> so initially, the majority of us, including myself, did pause when the initial roe v. wade decision came down, because we wanted our state leaders to give us some clarity, because there's multiple conflicting laws on the boo
