national political reporter for the arizona republic, ronald. >> thanks for having me. >> how much swaystate? >> that's an important question. and it's hard to answer. in earlier years it would certainly be easy to see her having some influence when this state was more in the sway of john mccain and that sort of vintage republican. these days, it feels harder to find those sort of republicans. it is the kind of conversation that may give comfort to democrats. most of the republican party has moved in a different direction. they are fully in the trump fold. >> and so in that fold are election deniers. that is who liz cheney will try to target to keep them from getting office. it sounds like this would be an uphill battle for her to assuage voters. >> yeah. it seems a conversation a lot of democrats want to have. when i'm out taking to voters in various events, mostly senate related, that's not what republicans are talking about. they are talking about the high price of gas, the border, crime. it's things kari lake has talked about. it is seen through a different lens. republican voters b
