i represent arkansas. i'm here at the centerpiece of the civil rights trail of the south. in 1957 was the biggest school integration crisis following the brown versus board of education decision. the national park service has this memorial right here at central high school one of the most beautiful high schools in our country. i'm an avid outdoorsman and so the national park site in arkansas is the first national river in our country the buffalo national river. i've been going there literally for about 55 years and so i have many, many miles on the river and wonderful happy memories of floating america's first national river, the buffalo national river. teddy roosevelt led the charge to protect america's wild places and special places. he believed in the strenuous life. and now more than of our young people, our families need to get out doors and enjoy america and that's why as you're watching this show i'm up in acadia, in maine, hiking in the park up in the northeast participating the 100 mile challenge. i urge everybody in america this fall, support our cen temp nnial f
