i saw a tape of you speaking in gilroy at the vigil tonight after the shooting at the arlic festival. i remember you asking your neighbors if they eotreatle different from them with love. what were you getting at? >> brian, at that time i was thinking about the roots of evil. it seemed like we tended to default to someone wi mental illness and i kept thinking, are we going to stop this? what can we do differently? we look in the mirror and say what are we doing wrong as a ciety? what can we do differently? for me it was a sense of love and compassion for the people, n just lig to someone you may disagree with. that seems to be something that people don't to nowadays. >> you are a marine corps veteran. you served in afghanistan and you are also the on of mexican immigrants. in light of the fbi investigation of these shootings as an act of domestic terrorism, how have you been thinking about these shootings? >> for me it s been an interpersonal dilemma because of the dichotomyi feel that we are erencing. having homegrown white american terrorists here optargeting who are also american.
