i'm flying down this weekend to interview arnold donald for something we're going to do on the show latering question. there's a lot of questions whether he can turn it around. if you start raising margins and cutting costs, this stock could really fly say some of the analysts. that's a real interesting stock. >> mine within my universe of m&a is perhaps not unexpected. certainly the foremost activist but it is the rise of the activist investors. i'm not sure why we're showing tepper, he's not an activist but that guy is, bill ackman. activism when it comes to this case hertz, which puts a poison pill in this morning. large or small, there have been virtually no company that have not become aware of the activist investors, the money that has flowed into their coffers and the freedom they seem to feel to try to exert their will on corporations. we'll see whether that dynamic changes in the coming year. >> it points to how much of business news revolved around the penalty, the bezos, the mary barra at gm, the icahns. u mentioned it. >> hey, we got something. >> net flex is testing new water

is arnold donald changing what is a $30 billion business? >> we did recently upgrade to outperform. there's probably hundreds of millions of cost potential within the carnival structure. if you think about their businesses, they're run them really separately over the years. they have 10, 11 different brands. if they can consolidate -- >> he's not saying he's going to do that. he's still 30% owned by mickey aronson. >> i think they acknowledge there is a problem, there is an opportunity. i've never seen a market share leader, 40% of the market not take some of the cost cutting opportunities they have shied away from historically. and the amount that retail capacity has come down in the last 30 years, at least in terms of the number of shopping malls. that's not the case when it comes to casinos. it seems as though every time you turn around there's another state competing with vegas and how much overcapacity is there in this industry? >> we're starting to see supply come out of the market. cesar's is going to acquire the bankrupt casino in atlantic city and close it. you think about
