"today in the bay's" arturo santiago is live at that scene.reak. >> reporter: it is. while they were making that arrest t accident investigation team has been out here doing its work. take a look behind me. the road is going to be closed for the next couple hours at least as the accident investigation team continues to take measurements and gather evidence. the 40-year-old victim was a passenger in the car. he was pronounced dead at the scene. now the crash itself happened at around 2:00 this morning. the 18-year-old driver was trying to navigate a curve on pearl street. he lost control and crashed into the back of parked cars which were pushed into the back of more parked cars. the passenger was trapped inside the car. firefighters had to cut him out of the vehicle. police believe alcohol may have been a factor. >> after the victim was extracted out of the vehicle, officers found several cans of beer inside the vehicle. we'll check when our traffic enforcement unit gets here. they'll determine whether or not any are open containers or closed.
