employee and also as a president of the fdr democratic club in the city for seniors and people with disabilities. first off speaking as the president of the fdr club, we are proud to be really the spear head of helping to kick this thing open within the city. i want to say thank you to supervisor mar for his rock solid support throughout this process. i was disappointed i missed him. i missed his remarks today, but sure they are pretty much in line with every comment i heard him make on this issue. when the fdr club brought this isue to supervisor mars attention all most 2 years ago, the only thing he asked was how can i help. he never said anything else, he just said let's get this done. this isn't okay, how do we fix this and move forward. so we did. we brought forward a series of recommenditions one being to hire a disability employment coordinator in the city and proud to say that our members, we walk the halls during the budget process this year knocking on every door of the board of supervisors and walking through every door that was opened and saying we are here. this is impo

i'm in downtown sioux city and as you can see they are all out on the roads. i spoke with the sioux city streets department who are making sure siouxlanders are able to still travel around on those slippery roads. they're warning drivers tonight to take it slow and give yourself additional time to get to your destination. drivers also need to stick with the main traveled roads because those are top priorities for plowing. the superintenden t of the streets department says it's the hardest time of the year. 2010 after those eight years, two years as council person and six years as mayor of waterloo, i really believed that i left behind a city that was in better shape than what i took it as in 2004. in the areas of economic development, in financial health of the city, our improved delivery of services and certainly in the city's image, not just how we're perceive on the outside, but how we perceived ourselves. in the intervening six years, i continued my involvement and interest in the city of waterloo by being very participatative and involved and engaged in organizations and associations and boards that are all about the betterment of waterloo. so when mayor bud clark announced that he was not going to run for office again, it was at a time when i began to sense that the good things that had happened during the six to eight years that i was in the elected office were beginning to unravel. certainly it seemed that our city was beginning to be define by the negative rather than the positives and the opportunities. we were taking -- we were balancing budgets by taking money from reserves that i'd helped to build up, and jus

employee and also as a president of the fdr democratic club in the city for seniors and people with disabilities. first off speaking as the president of the fdr club, we are proud to be really the spear head of helping to kick this thing open within the city. i want to say thank you to supervisor mar for his rock solid support throughout this process. i was disappointed i missed him. i missed his remarks today, but sure they are pretty much in line with every comment i heard him make on this issue. when the fdr club brought this isue to supervisor mars attention all most 2 years ago, the only thing he asked was how can i help. he never said anything else, he just said let's get this done. this isn't okay, how do we fix this and move forward. so we did. we brought forward a series of recommenditions one being to hire a disability employment coordinator in the city and proud to say that our members, we walk the halls during the budget process this year knocking on every door of the board of supervisors and walking through every door that was opened and saying we are here. this is impo
