joining me now is the republican presidential candidate and former arkansas governor asa hutchinson. do want to ask you about the legal troubles of your most formidable upon, trump wants to delay his georgia trial past the october start date that was proposed by the fulton county district attorney fani willis. possibly until after the election. so do you think that it is critical that these criminal cases are resolved before the election? >> well, i think there is a great public interest that they're resolved before the election. and when you're looking at speedy trial requirements, that is not just for the defendant but it is also for the public because the public has an interest in having an outcome on these cases and particularly the voters in iowa, new hampshire and on super tuesday, they'll be voting blind unless some of these cases are resolved. and so, the facts will come out. it is a huge distraction. it is hard for the candidates to get the message out. and but it is critically important that we continue to fight that battle. talking about the economy, talking about border s

that's not who they are. >> so, i want to ask you about asa hutchinson. personally experienced standing up and talking about what is real and what is true. we know trump and his maga followers lean into threats, they lean into intimidation. it can make going against the grain, like you've experienced, very isolating and scary. a few days ago you tweeted in part, to anyone else who needs to hear this, they may make you feel like you're completely alone and have no one else, but it's how they operate. we are all out here to assist if you need it. the truth is a powerful thing. i mean, olivia, you wrote that in response to the fact that you -- use all to paris, who is one of the trump employees, he flipped in his cooperating with the federal government in the mar-a-lago case, one of the several criminal cases donald trump is facing. is there a support system for people like yourself and somebody like mr. chivalrous who has distanced himself from the trump affiliated team even though they are undergoing relentless attacks of fear and threats and intimidation?

asa hutchinson. they don't seem to be willing to do what it would take to say, hey are not the incumbent. you action need to be held accountable for what you've done to american democracy. >> of course. look. republican voters i think it's some point you're going to have to play very close attention to the indictments. and asked themselves an important question. do you really want the republican nominee to be talking about the past and possibly convicted -- for the party and what that would mean for his electability. i realize primary for the snow's potential to electability but at some point they must. the way they have fashioned i think in a more meaningful way is these candidates running against trump in the, primary all of them not just asa hutchinson and will hurd in the two others, they only to stand up and talk about the risk. to the party into the country. but nominating -- and likely to be convicted. that's the only way out of it. and republicans street keep praying. this implosion the never
