asaph street and king street. if you were here a couple of hours ago, it would be to have been shut down for a two block radius. we show some video of the scene and here is the latest for what happened. just before 7:00 in the morning, there was a disorderly subject in the area that had a hard object in hand and he was striking vehicles on the side of the road. police responded and got there and things escalated. the suspect attacked the female officer. she is 34 and has been on the force for one year. she was hit in the head with that hard object and we were told it was serious damage to her head. here's what the deputy chief had to say. >> she is shaken up. i visited with her and she will survive her injuries, but they were serious in nature. thank you for asking, but i think she will be okay. >> reporter: after being hit in the head, she responded out of fear for her life and she fired her weapon and the bullet went into a car. it did not hit the suspect and the suspect was arrested and apprehended and brought
