we don't understand what's happening at asbury. we're not sure does understand it. whatever is going on, seems like a sort of thing we badly need more of. we started making plans to go to kentucky on friday, tomorrow, to see the service for ourselves. then this morning, a remarkable thing happened. we got a call from asbury university asking us not to come. it's not personal, they said. they like our show, but the ongoing service at asbury is purely spiritual, nothing to do with politics or business. no one there is making money from it or planning a run for office. it's young people worshiping god in a country that doesn't offer it. it's not really a place for tv cameras. we understood that. in fact, we deeply respected it. when you work in television, you run into a lot of people who want publicity. you almost never meet anyone who doesn't want publicity. when you do meet those that don't, they're either doing something wrong or in the rarest of all cases they're doing something so right and so beautiful and so true that media coverage can't enhance it. it can onl

so here at asbury university, three morning, a week, we have chapel at 10:00 a.m.the whole student body gets together, and praise the order, and hear from a speaker. on wednesday, february 8th, it didn't end. that's a logistical side, what's been going on. on the deeper side of things, what's been happening since wednesday, there's a young army of believers who are rising to claim christianity as their own, as a young generation and free generation. that's why people can't get enough. >> tucker: that's amazing. so you felt something like something like this was going to happen, because everything finds equilibrium, i think. where are the people coming from? >> we don't know most of them. we've obviously been getting calls, hundreds of calls to the university switchboard number, but we have friends here from brazil, from indonesia, almost every state, and they just keep coming. it's no wonder. it's like you said, especially in the midst of tragedy, what we've seen at michigan state university, even farther back to 2020, our generation was impacted so much. so you ha

asbury student body president and executive editor join us now. with you, alexandra. this is not the first time your university has had a revival, isn't that right? >> yes, that is right. we had one in 1970. i believe another one in 2006. it's just amazing. you see pictures now like that are like -- you see an image from 1970 and you see people in the exact same position now and it's just -- it's absolutely beautiful. rachel: so t tell me -- i've never been to one of these before. what would i feel? what would i see if i walked into that -- i think it's the hughes auditorium, is that right? >> yes, that's right. it's in hughes. i feel it's more than just emotions or just an experience. you're encountering the holy spirit so that looks different for a lot of people. some people it means they just get filled with this like joy and other people it means they're sitting down and it's just peaceful and quiet. but you can physically feel the tangible presence of the holy spirit for sure. it varies but it's so beautiful at the same time. rachel: so many

we had a young woman at asbury university helping us out to explain all this.ponse. >> revivals are not limited to a school or an institution. i think there are so much evidence of that, how god is working in other campuses and other colleges, and across the country. so it's been really cool to see what he's doing. >> trace: what do you make of these revivals spreading across the country? >> trace, i think she's exactly right. the atmosphere couldn't be better for a revival right now. you've got geopolitical threats like china and russia, you've got colliding black holes you've talked about. you've got unending violence going on right now. you've got the polarization of our citizens. people are feeling hopeless and that's where revivals begin, when people realize that their need for god isn't partial, it's absolutely total. what i really am encouraged about, trace, is that these revivals lack the sensationalism and theatrics of some revivals in the past. nobody is passing around rattlesnakes. nobody is rolling in the aisles. instead, there is a quiet reverence
