look at all the smoke and ash. all of that debris down at the lower levels of the atmosphere. a lot of bad air quality as well. here's the forecast for the next five days. temperatures will be in the 90s. but it will cool off some at night. so that's good. temps in some spots will actually get down into the 50s. as far as what we have right now for winds, we've got winds that are not too bad. one, two-mile-an-hour. we'll take that for sure. nonetheless, we're looking at a decent amount of smoke heading to the south and the east. will we get any rainfall from tropical system that's down here in the gulf of mexico which may develop in the next day or two. they are probably going to fly an aircraft into that thing and check it out today. nonetheless, our models have no idea what to do with this thing. none of them at this point bring it toward texas. as far as what's going on elsewhere, now a new tropical storm. its name is maria. it's a good 1,000 or so miles out there east of the caribbean. nonetheless, heading that

we are going to see plenty of sunshine ash the bay area today.get through some of the low clouds and fog early on this morning. still it's thick in spots out toward the coastline, some of the interior valleys. the low clouds will break up around the bay area today. we'll see mostly sunny skies. if you are heading to the coast, watch out. it's pretty thick. there is some dense fog out there, also some drizzle toward the coast. low clouds extending into the bay, partly cloudy in the valleys. mid-90s, sunny and hot inland much 70s inside the bay. 80s toward the santa clara valley, mix of sun and fog at the coast, 50s and 60s at the beaches. the fog will be slow to burn off today. by this afternoon we get into the summer sunshine again. high pressure holding on for another day, showing signs of weakening. a low will drop into the bay area and will bring a chance of some monsoonal moisture, slight chance of some thunderstorms in the bay area. better chance of thunderstorms up in the sierra nevada. aired the bay 79 degrees in mountain view, 72 in oakla
