you'll recall several months ago in the spring defense secretary ash carter, you know, made this commenthe iraqis have the will to fight. you flash back to that and see what is happening now. obviously this is major progress. and one reason why it has been taking as long as it has according to senior administration officials, and they've been emphasizing this as well to the iraqis, they want to make sure and the iraqis want to make sure when they go in and try to take isis out of these territories, that they are very careful about it because what they're saying is that isis has been using civilians as human shields. and so while this has been sort of a laborious, painstaking process, they feel tights right strategy. talking to senior military officials earlier today, they want to get this positive news out to the american people. it's not just isis on the offensive, that the iraqi forces at this counter-isis campaign can be on the offensive as well. >> talk about these civilians, they're civilians isis originally wanted to bring into the caliphate, so using those people as shields. inter

spring, these kids will have a shorter distance to walk... north america's first vertical tsunami evacuation shelter is being constructed as part of the school's new gymnasium and cafeteria building. structural engineer cale ash took me up for his first look at the roof of the shelter, designed essentially to be an evacuation platform 55 feet above sea level. to start with there are four stair towers with 14 inch concrete shear walls as well as concrete encased steel support columns. >> the building has to resist the strongest earthquake it'll will ever see, and then 30 minutes later has to have enough reserve strength to that tsunami wave. >> this evacuation shelter is built to withstand a 9.0 earthquake and a 14 foot tsunami, which is more than twice the height computer models expect for this area. >> we had to design each of these four concrete stair towers to resist potential impact from debris that could be carried by a tsunami, in addition to just the force of the water flowing around the building. >> so that's a huge amount of force that a tsunami could be applying to this building. >> yeah, very big forces and the debris is unknown... there could be school buses, vehicles, other things that are carrie

springs missy is. you may have heard that's where the 7-year-old was found dead. again in benton county, mississippi. specifically ashwe've got bricks. you can just see the strength this tornado had as it ripped across here. as we look at some of the damage here, we have three people who were killed in this tornado and this storm system. benton tocounty sheriff's offic tells me they were all in their 60s. two of them a man and woman, a married couple, were dead in ashfield, mississippi. another man was found dead again in his 60s. found a little further north than where we are now. we still have two people that were missing. i talked with one family, their mom is missing. patricia williams. she's about a quarter of a mile down the road. their home was completely wiped out. they told me her mom's boyfriend was found in the yard. he unfortunately passed away. they are still looking for her mom, have no idea where she may be, because the boyfriend's belongings were just scattered across a mile radius of where we were. so again, those search efforts, they're going to be coming back in about 15 minutes to pick those back
