as we all know, asheville was severely impacted by hurricane helene. baxter, this facility employed 3000 employees, and it is the largest production facility for saline in the united states. pretty sure they had a business continuity plan. what they may not have accounted for was a hurricane that washed out all of the roads that led to their facility. moving saline, which has a shelf life, from that warehouse out to hospitals became a very difficult thing. and they supply like 80% of saline to hospitals nationwide. when you go into a hospital or medical facility, saline is like water. you just get it. it is something regardless of your condition they hook you up to an iv bag. and so really having the ability to think creatively, to use a little healthy paranoia, and look at your entire environment and understand where disruption in different processes could impact your ability to deliver is really important. that is the kind of know your dependencies, in every organization. no one is immune to this. you really need to sit down, and it is important to b
