and joining me now is j.j., with one of his pet chickens, his name is snow and parents ashley and joeyou for joining us. >> thank you for having us. >> ashley, let's start with you, i said it before, j.j. needs to keep -- if we needed to get signs to help him, we wanted to see him keep his pets. you spoke from your heart when you said you saw a change in j.j. after the pets. what was his condition like before he got snow and his other pets? >> before he got snow and other pets he was made minimal -- bad social skills and he was pulling out his hair and would pinch himself. he was in intense therapy with joint compression brushing just -- he needed a lot of help and his therapist did a great job of that but the chickens are something we could do at home. it really helped bring him out of his shell. got him running around. got him active, sitting and crouching and standing and jumping. his sounds they would mimic, i snow that sounds crazy but it encouraged him with his speech. and his first word was duck for duck. >> joe, how did you find out that chickens would help? were you looking f

i'm dan ashley. >> i'm ama dates. >> the watermain broke at the top of 7 hills drive. >> alan wang is there live for us tonight. alan, what a mess. >> yeah, dan and ama, this is one of the homes that was caught in the flood of water that came cascading down from the top of the hill. about the only thing firefighters could do is take what they could and dig trenches to divert the water. let me show you what it looked like shortly after the call came in around 7:00 tonight. it was a small water leak at first, but east bay mud said it was a 12-inch main that quickly broke wide open and sent thousands of gallons roaring down the hill. it even caused a sinkhole that swallowed up a fire truck. a wrecker is trying to carefully pull it up right now. most of the water washed in the backyards backyards and into garages of 15 homes. only one home and one family had to be evacuated. with me is jennifer fisher and i understand this makeshift wall here actually saved your home. >> the firefighters took up any land you could and made a makeshift dam so the water wouldn't go into our house. the water
