ashley strohmier is live with the latest on this. ey 13 million is a big number. >> reporter: really is trace and new york city has agreed to pay that number, $13 million, to settle a civil rights dispute between black lives matter protesters and its police force. it was brought on behalf of about 1300 people who were arrested during black lives matter proceed interests the summer of 2020. at the time former new york city mayor bill de blasio instituted a curfew and police arrested roughly 2,000 demonstrators between may 28th and june 7th a period that saw widespread looting and the burning of several police cars. under the agreement, 1380 protesters $10,000 each. the guild accused the nypd of brute lying communities under the curfew. they say police were responding to an unprecedented situation that saw officers pelted with rocks and water bottles adding there is no history or present or future of unconstitutional policing. there is no frequent deprivation of constitutional rights. the settlement does not require the nypd to change a

i'm ashley strohmier, now back to "sunday night in america."ca." ♪ ♪ >> trey: welcome back to "sunday night in america." the state of idaho is seeking the death penalty for bryan kohberger. bryan kohberger is charged with the murder of four college students in a crime that gripped the nation for months. before you get to sentencing, the defendant has to be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt. it is easier or harder for him to get convicted? paul mauro is joining us. the murder of four people makes this case eligible, sometimes the jury requires more proof in the capital case. the crime certainly rises to the level of capital case. do you think the facts, as you understand them, rise to the highest level of evident iary proof for a capital case? >> in idaho, there is this standard there are a number of things you can hit that make it a capital case. one is the crime being heinous. that is in this case. if you have a case that is on the edge, jurors are not sure which way to go relative to the death penalty, even if they believe the perp is guilt

[indiscernible] -- >> todd: wow, ashley strohmier with more. fed ex driver saving a man's life, he pulled him from a burning car on the side of the road, which you saw in the video. it happened 3 a.m. on i-15 in southern california. it was after a 28-year-old driving a toyota camry crashed into a guard rail and the car burst into flames. luckily, the driver spotted the blaze and jumped into action. >> he was sitting in the passenger seat by the time i got over to it, sitting with the door open. >> he can't get out on his own. >> i tried to pick him up, i couldn't pick him up well, i had to pull him from the car. >> carley: within seconds of dragging the man from the car, it engulfed in flames. the image shows fed ex driver dragging him away. fire crews arrived and were able to contain the blaze. the driver was taken to a local hospital to issue treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, he remains stable according to highway patrol. the crash is being investigated and unclear how it happened, authorities say alcohol and drugs were not a factor in

. >> todd: i wish she would pack some clothes ashley strohmier has more. >> ashley: it was on the oaklanddge. driver called 911 4:40 tuesday saying a woman got out of her car with a gun. she stopped in middle of the road and got out of the car with a knife. she got back in her car and continued driving. however, things escalated when she stopped at a toll booth and naked with a gun, shooting at cars backed up behind her. video shows the naked woman walking on the shoulder and shooting the gun into the air. police were able to talk her into dropping her gun. luckily, no one got hurt. even highway patrol say they have not seen anything like this. they said, we are grateful no one was harmed in this incident. officers got her to drop her weapon and take her into custody. i don't have another incident to compare this to. the woman was put on mental health hold and will be booked when released. the incident closed traffic for an hour. >> todd: there is ha, ha, part of it, but people could have died. imagine driving with your family and see this. >> carley: this story is hard to react to on the
