today, tyson entering the race for kosher brands it is a food frenzy out there and fox business's ashley webster latest. >> yes, it's interesting. and i have no idea that jimmy dean sausages were so popular, but apparently they are. willshire brands must be doing something right. tyson foods, one of the largest meat processing companies has it that the totals more than $6 billion. they are offering above $50 per share amounts $5 higher than the $45 sharing made just two days ago. so don't forget all of the frenzy comes after hill scheier announced it was making a $6.2 billion bid for frozen vegetable maker [inaudible] simply put, all the companies involved trying to diversify the scope of the supermarket. the portfolio includes brand-name prepared meats, ballpark hot dogs, as well as sara lee desserts. and certainly it could bolster its lineup from the fresh processed meats. just as important it would block a strong foothold in the u.s. market. and so we should also point out that they are both contingent on the proposed tie out the surging today of more than 17.5%. gerri: this is fascinating to

ashley webster, get in here. >> as you said matching and down five and revenue.s the 11th drake decline in revenue for hp. industry observers have been watching what they can do to turn the current-- company around and there has been signs of that. they have been through cost cutting as well which has helped the bottom line. but this will have an impact in we will crosscheck on the guidance from hewlett-packard. let's face it, that hewlett-packard software distribution division is the key ones for them three we will see how that has performed. that accounts for 42% of the company's value. oks what i guess we will say now. we saw stock prices point out is it has come back a bit. we will continue to dig through these numbers and see what else they are same. liz: they are the worlds largest personal computer maker. this is a shrinking market. >> it's a hugely shrinking market. liz: they don't have a phone to write home about, it's a tough business. they have been very solid things i think part of the drop in stock may be the fact that it was a surprise punch. we don

ashley webster. are companies hooking up at the pace they are now because they see something down the road right now? well, economists barry thinks so. the author of "the great crash ahead. " and ian disagrees. harry, your opinion is there's going to be hell to pay. but you're saying a big old market crash. why? >> well, this is another sign -- we have been saying for the last few years -- of a bubble beginning to burst. we saw this in 2000. the tech bubble peeked and then crashed and then 2007, another bubble, the slight new high, and then crashed to lower lows, and now we're at higher highs on the dow, and ng to around 17,000 didn't. >> oh was the mergers -- see a big crash. >> how would these mergers call that into question. >> the more a boom builds, a bubble or bull market, the more companies get confident, just like investors, the more they invest, the more they have mergers and acquisitions and ipos, so this is a sign we're getting closer to a peak and doesn't mean it's not a good thing. the c

ashley webster now joins us with the latest details. >> hey, lori, yeah, you could say they're hungryeal in the food industry. starts to get a little complicated. jimmy dean sausage wants to buy bird's eye frozen vegetables. poultry producer pilgrim's pride -- a subsidiary of the brazilian food giant jbs -- offering to pay $6.4 billion in cash for hillshire brands, the company that makes jimmy dean sausage and ballpark hot dogs. the offer is set to derail the sale of pinnacle foods that was announced just a couple of weeks ago. pilgrim wants to torpedo that deal and contends its off for hillshire presents better value for the company and its shareholders. earlier this month sean connolly told fox business he was quite happy remaining an independent company. >> we're focused on what we can control, and that is building a different kind of food company, one that's simultaneously focused on growth and on being lean, and so far we're two years into this journey, and we're putting significant pointers on the board, and i like our prospects as an independent company. >> sources say a clause
