a lot of them flew home on asiana airlines. one person was in a wheelchair and another was on a stretcher. most did not want to -- most did not want to talk to the waiting mob of reporters there. several injured in the asiana airlines crash left the hospital and we spoke to the chief of surgery about those injuries, paul? >> reporter: she did tell us there will be three other survive being victims undergoing surgery later today. we bring it to you live as it happens when other survivors boarded a bus and this happened just about an hour and a half ago and it's about 8 to 10 people who boarded that bus and we are told they were survivors. they were not told where they were going and they did not want to do any other interview. the chief of surgery told me they had some type of spine color and when the impact happened, it caused the buckle to open and at least two of those people will be permanently paralyzed. >> we always hope some of them will recover, but the chances of that are pretty slim. they will have their spine stablize

he's the president of asiana airlines. he arrived in san francisco today and there were somewhere in the neighborhood of around 50 reporters waiting for him. many of them national and international reporters. there was a microphone podium set up but young doo walked right by it and when he did chaos broke out. reporters and cameramen running every which way to try and talk with him. when asked about the crash young- doo said that he was sorry in korean. there were a couple of officers nearby but even they couldn't tame the crowd. they yelled for a path to be cleared. at one point a officer get "someone get me a baton." one national photographer said it was worse than michael jackson mobs. young doo had to turn around and go back towards customs where he was again chased down as reporters tried to get information. this is what is sounded like. audiio >>get back! get back! >>get back! get back! >> reporter:young-doo and the executives talked with some of those on board the plane. you'll hear what they had to say in my story

the clearest video yet of yesterday's deadly asiana airlines crash at sfo surfaced today taken from a park in millbrae. the boeing jumbo jet with 300 passengers and crew crash lands, pirouettes, skids and comes down into a field to rest as dust flies. we showed this video to a retired airline captain who has made many landings at sfo. >> he's coming in pretty nose high and it looks like he's short. the approach apparently might have been a bit slow. possibly the airplane in front of them might have created wake turbulence. that's the other thing that could have happened because of slight cross-wind. that wind turbulence is going to stay around for a long time. >> the ntsb has just started to release the first pictures their investigators have taken at the crash site. inside the cabin all the seats are mangled. it is notable there does not seem to be any burned areas. other images show the outside of the plane and including the landing gear. we have learned much more today about the crash, the investigation and the status of sfo. >> the ntsb says both flight data and voice recorders, t

we will continue to track the latest with the deadly asiana airline crash that left two dead and many wounded. is with canberrabut first lets check in with erica kato for an update on our weather forecast. as the investigation continues in the deadly asiana airlines crash over the weekend, we are learning new details this morning. we now know the name of the pilot behind the wheel at the time of the crash. lee kang-kuk had only 43 hours of flying time experience in a boeing triple-7 and it was his first time landing that type of plane at s-f-o. there were 307 people on board asiana flight 214 coming in from seoul. two people were killed. both of them teenage girls from china. the coroner's office now probing if one of the girls was killed after being run over by a rescue vehicle. of the surviving victims, at least 180 people were taken to several bay area hospitals. this is cell-phone video of the crash as it happened. you can see the plane approaching the runway when the tail end makes contact with the ground. from that point it continues to skid down the runway and eventually comes
