so many asian babies are born in cpmc. if you look at the roles of the babies that are born in cpmc and you look at the sur names, you don't just see asian nails. you see the sur names of all of the people in san francisco because that is part of the service that they offer. but beyond just being born in cpmc, cpmc takes care of the health of asian american families as we grow. many of you are aware of hepatitis b disease. hepatitis b is the greatest health disparity for asians in america. hepatitis b is also the greatest cause of liver cancer in the world. for both of these reasons, san francisco has the highest rate of liver cancer in the country. we are doing something about ending that liver cancer in san francisco with the campaign and cpmc has played a leadership role in that. because of the great work that we have done in ending hepatitis b disease, in part we have helped to create a national action plan to end hepatitis in america which was issued last year. in that plan, they called for the firstever national hepa

asian america in part. to the west we've got higher income communities to the south, the beige area is daly city in south san francisco where there are large number of latinos. and certainly in some courses there's pressure to create, try to maximize the asian-american population in those districts. certainly coalitions recognize the limit of the law but also really, i think worked was informed i the kinds of priorities that they had, the work they were doing were folks were really, felt like low income, asian-american immigrants would be better served by were drawn into the same district as low-income latino districts. so this was, these are districts that were adopted that more or less resemble their proposal that we had submitted to the commission. so hopefully that gives you a sense as to what we did at how changing demographics impact of our work. as a look to 21, and we expect, i don't know if i will be your, but we expect greater geographic and ethnic diversity, possibly majority asian-american statu

i can go off and preach about the fact they think so many of us asian american authors and asian authors in general tend to go back and write about our ancestors and write about things in our past not our specific past but may be of of ancestors and mothers and grand mothers. we have been telling their story. i think the generation to come, will be telling stories of living here. it will be different stories. but the oppression of our voices have been for so many, many years, if you think back the first writer who was read in terms of asian american was maxine kingston. i read her in high school and was greatly affected by reading about the woman warrior. before her there were few. there were some but didn't make that economic splash. they were never read in a large way. maxine was the first one we read her in school we knew of her. she was not out there like anny tan was when she wrote the joy luck club. so much of it is timing. it meant all the history and the voices before then had been silent. my generation of writers came in and we heard stories of women and men and the family of a

there might be an occasional asian party put on. i forgot to mention, duc luu is not with us tonight. i'm fully prepared and will answer any questions you might have concerning -- concerning any of the other business operations. i know when we were here the last time, there were a number of issues. if i might just briefly cover that, i -- as you know, jocelyn can back me up on this, i have a lot of nightclub clients. i have pretty much the most successful young nightclub lines in san francisco, including vintage 415, atonic boys, red bull, mayhem, a couple of more things. i also have mr. luu. the sake lab sale was pending. he was the most successful asian promoter in san francisco. he held parties in places, such as at&t park. he did city hall. he has a party on halloween and new year's eve in fort mason's that is always attended by approximately 3000 young, asian, college-and vacated professionals. there has never been one party -- college-educated professionals. there has never been a problem with those parties. i would have to st
