montgomery county police say that a woman and child were struck by a vehicle at georgia avenue and aspen hill road this morning. our 9 news now lindsey mastis on the scene and she has the latest details in this report. >> reporter: jc, it happened right behind me on georgia avenue. a woman was pushing her 17- month-old daughter in a stroller across the street. there are cross walks in this area. we don't know whether they were in a cross walk or not, but basically they were struck by an suv. we just got the good news that the little 17-month-old girl is going to make it, and that is why police, at this point, have cleared the scene. after they were both struck, some passerbiers stop it's and discovered the little girl was not breathing. a police officer and a registered nurse were among those that stopped. they started to perform cpr on the little girl until the ambulance got there. the mother, we're told, is also going to survive. basically, this intersection, we're told by people who are familiar with the area, is extremely dangerous. >> sometimes the drivers they don't stop. and i use
