i'm president of the bar association of san francisco. basf, as we note the bar association to be called, has had a long relationship with the public defenders office. it is crucially important for administration of justice. and so is san francisco conflicts panels where administration, which the bar association has provided in partnership with public defenders. so in san francisco when a public defender has a conflict of interest, criminal defendants and minors are represented by private attorneys from a panel administered by the bar association of san francisco. maintaining this independent body of attorneys is critically important as a well-run public defenders office. we are each other's complement. we are the sum of the parts that makes whole the criminal departments working so well in san francisco. in 2003 the superior court contracted with the bar association of san francisco indigent to have cost-saving oversight to the administration and billing associated with conflicts. so tron is the director of the courts administration and

the reach out to the merchants associations with the neighborhood associations? >> typically, this information is available to the public. we are required to provide that notice to any organization within the planning notification requirement as part of the process, if memory serves. supervisor weiner: i would definitely encourage -- i know the planning department makes a valiant effort to keep the current contact list on neighborhood associations. one example related to the m.t.a. was on 24th street and noe valley. mta put a bunch of bike parking facilities on it and did not contact cbd, the noe valley association responsible for a lot of the streets getting. of course everybody wanted to get the bike parking, but it was inconsistent with the cbd. that caused a bunch of consternation that ultimately got resolved. had there been better outreach by mta ahead of time, i think it is important to contact the people who are actually starting the public realm. >> similar to what we are currently doing with t-mobile foods in terms of notification -- with the mobile food

i am president of the golden gate way tennis association. our members live immediately adjacent to the proposed construction site, and i am here today to question the completeness of the draft report in two respects. first is to the impact of construction noise in the neighborhood, specifically with respect to pile drivers. the draft report shows that the davis building is located 60 feet away from the construction site just across drums street. the report indicates that there will be 27 to 29 months of construction, including seven months of foundation work. there will be pile driving, and the piles will be on average 130 feet long. table one-three states that the impact of the pile driving noise will be significant unless it is mitigated. several mitigation measures are proposed, including pre-drilling to the extent possible, and use of state of the art buffering equipment. information i did not find in the report includes these -- how many piles will be driven? no numbers are provided. how far or too wet death would it be possible to pre-
