this last shooting happened yesterday at noon. a gunman fired about 15 rounds at a rival gang member standing on the sidewalk at 24th and harrison. the man was hit and another bullet struck a nearby home. he was the fourth victim of a gang-related violence in the mission since saturday. we drove by the area this morning. it was quiet and no signs something violent had happened. san francisco police chief called for an emergency meeting after the eruption yesterday. he met with the head of the gang task force and other city leaders. an outreach director told us the gang war is the result of reduced funding for gang intervention and several years of relative peace between rival groups. >> unfortunately when you do that what you have is individuals that have been trying to maintain their emotions. trying to be cool for so long that there's certain thing that is end up pushing them over the edge and that ends up blowing up. >> reporter: yesterday's victim is expected to survive. the police department has amped up patrols in that area.
