when i was 18 i was around the atlanta university center lot. took a lead role in aplay called the man who came to dinner. i have seen martin in things like that. he was par excellence and a person who was concerned to mold his university through language. i have never seen him as a mystic. a religious figure, yes. very much in the way socrates was a religious figure. of course in the way socrates took the hemlock, martin took the bullet. but in both cases it's a question of wiping out a man who spoke truth to power and who was not much liked for it. he is a deeply interesting figure because he covered so much ground. there is the intellectual martin who wasn't simply engaged in a study of theology. as someone who took pleasure in ideas and i don't speak as someone who knew him intimately. i have met and spoken to him once and that was at fisk. in the middle of the montgomery business he came up and stayed with us for a few days. hanging loose a bit. we had quite a few discussions and the impression he made on me has stayed with me. you must und

we showed you the pictures from atlanta. actually winter.e've got snow out there and snow in areas of the middle of the country. areas in white are under winter weather advisories. areas of texas where we had snow all the way up into areas of nebraska and areas of arkansas. we do have a couple winter storm warnings here, areas just outside of little rock heading up the highway to ft. smith. overall very light. not a huge winter storm. you can see on the radar, all the white is the snow. the bluer shading is the heavier senator, actually north texas to the dallas area where it's too warm, you're just getting rain. but outside dallas, you're getting snow. you can see it's all spreading through the ozarks. kansas city is going to have a light coating of snow, springfield joplin, all the way up to st. louis. it's not a big snow event. our computers are saying one 1 to 3 inches. everywhere in the state of missouri and through oklahoma, these little white spots is where we could see maybe 3 or 4. that's about it. this will head to chicago later to
