temperatures across the mid-atlantic. not too bad. right now, sitting in the upper 70s, lower 80s. 80 degrees in baltimore. 79 in harrisburg. 76 in richmond. and we will continue to see that cold front heading our direction. giving us a chance for showers and thunderstorms erupting towards late evening tomorrow. but better chance for the front approaching is wednesday. but already strong storms up there toward toledo. moving through ft. wayne, defiance. heavy thunderstorm activity there. and for us, mainly clear can this. across parts of pennsylvania and then into maryland. talk about the storms brewing out there in the atlantic. this is a look at satellite image here. of hurricane bill. now, this is upgraded to a category 2 storm. this is getting stronger. by the minute. looking at winds sustained at 98 miles per hour. gusting to 121 miles per hour. and in this storm continues to strengthen as we go through the next day here. in fact, the projected path from the national hurricane center is taking it up west of bermuda toward saturda

meanwhile, tropical storms ana and bill keep moving across the atlant atlantic. let's get an update from reynolds. >> you see it right here across the coast in florida, in tampa. this system actually expected to gain strength, and as it does so, it is expected to make landfill around midnight tonight. we've got those two other systems we're talking about. those two other systems, of course, you've got bill right over here, and you've got ana, ana not nearly as impressive. as we put this in motion, ana would be the first to go. the path of the national hurricane center shows it going right over the islands, over the dominican republic in cuba, and it is not expected to strengthen that much. the tropical storm in monday and tuesday will be a depression, and moving into cuba as we get into wednesday early. bill, this storm moving a little farther north and thecn moving o the west/north west. we're expecting it to go to a category 3 storm with winds of 115 miles an hour. they don't roll from point to point, they tend to wobble. so a lot of changes that can occur in t

now way to the eastern atlantic. this is hurricane bill, the first one of the atlantic season with winds at 90 miles per hour. however, bill is expected to grow and become a category 3 as early as wednesday. then the models are divergent. will it affect the eastern atlantic seaboard or curve back out to sea in the northern atlantic? keep watching because this track could change and anyone who lives on the eastern seaboard needs to be monitoring bill for sure. this storm is pounding the dominican republic and puerto rico with heavy rain right now. it's a tropical depression. once a tropical storm. and it's likely to stay with the intensity. especially as it interacts with the mountains of cuba. still a rainmaker and strong winds at 35 miles per hour. that's intense. let's look back at the southeast. new orleans is getting clouds and showers as a result of claudette. we have some of the rain stretching well off to houston and the south western perishes of louisiana. the cloud coverage extends far north. it's affecting

as it continues to work off the warm waters of the atlantic. here is the potential pants of the storm. making a turn. this is important turn in here friday afternoon and friday night. the national hurricane center track is off the coast of the eastcoast of maryland and also delaware. so folks in salisbury, also ocean city, will probably have to deal with rough surf friday night to saturday morning and afternoon. and this track could go further west or further east. anywhere in this blue shaded area. and then it has the potential landfall up to massachusetts. watch it closely. looking at other model data. this is different model run showing different track potentially. and you can see a couple of them getting close to the carolinas and also very close to new jersey and maryland. so we have to watch this storm closely because if it shifts further west we remember isabel. hopefully they will want to see that again. nonetheless something to watch for a few days. back to you guys. >> okay. vytas, you can track danny with fox 45 hurricane tracker ava

the mid atlantic beaches from nags head up to new england and beyond, rough surf possible. here is what we had today on the almanac, 88 degrees and 76 the high and low at reagan national. just cloudy, nothing out there. five super doppler 7 radar, he's the humid night. we're looking for areas of fog, temperatures falling only a couple more degrees. up to the west, 59 at rapid city, that is behind a cold front that will make its way in the form of heavy thunderstorms, widespread rain friday, eventually dry air working and. the bermuda high pressure -- in effect. afternoon thunderstorms that will increase through the day friday. the cold front, a trough of low pressure, the cold front within the trough, as that comes in will bring dry air. that will also make sure that bill stays off sre. the movement and speed will determine how much our and storm activity we get. 70, 75 is the range in the morning, 90 degrees in the afternoon, scattered storms and thunderstorms. more widespread storms with a cold front. if it keeps moving along, dry air late saturday. sunday through tuesday

we're keeping our eye to the sky over the atlantic. there's noisy activity popping up over this weekend. it's been a quiet hurricane pattern so far. now we're starting to see things heat up in the tropics. this is tropical storm bit. winds sustained at 63 miles an hour. winds are gusting up to 75 miles an hour. we'll continue to see this probably strengthen overnight tonight becoming an official first hurricane of the season. it's going to continue to track to the west moving at 20, 25 miles an hour. looking at or -- 15 to 20 miles an hour. the track right now increasing it to a category 1 strength. this is the model data. it's going to continue to make a track coming up just missing the dominican republic. we have to watch it, especially folks in bermuda to see if this makes a right turn. we could see this make a turn. we're going to have to watch this closely to see how the storm tracks. that's something to take note of. back at home looking at relatively quiet conditions. we have a few high, thin clouds towards anne arundel county.

there's the atlantic seaboard, here's washington, here's florida and cuba. there's the dominican republican and haiti and puerto rico. thankfully for the island, it will pass to their north. look at the wind, 130 to 135. those are sustained winds, constant winds at that speed gusting over 160 miles an hour. it is a category 4 hurricane. it is a major hurricane and over the next couple of days the projected track here anywhere in this yellow zone looks like it will stay out to sea. here's bermuda. thankfully, it appears to pass west of bermuda near the outer banks, but there will likely be heavy surf all the way down to the outer banks. the shorelines of the carolinas will see this headed into the weekend. then it will head north and east. now for us, on the radar, we do have a few sprinkles passing through stafford county now dissipating. we have a couple other showers through southern maryland and southern st. mary's county. those are heading near cambridge and the wildlife refuge. it is in the steamy 70s fm the shenandoah valley to the atlantic basin. look

now spinning out in the atlantic. the center of circulation with danny, oddly enough, is not where you see all of the activity. it is actually off to the west here. you'll start to see some of these convict -- connect -- convective thunderstorms. when it does, and this is very important, we're going to slow this down a little bit. this is the storm pass, the cone of probability, where we expect to see this, friday into saturday. slowed it down here, because this is an important update from the national hurricane center. as the storm starts to parallel maryland and the shores, still registers as a tropical storm. it does not turn into a category 1 storm until it passes into maryland and starts to pass into the atlantic city, new england coastline. and that is an important distinction. because the storm will be at its strongest, once it's past the maryland shores. what it means for us, currently moving to the west/northwest. that we're still going to be dealing with big waves along the shoreline. rip currents are going

here's the atlantic seaboard. it appears it's going to take a turn to the right and stay out to sea right now. however, if it tracks here on the left side of this potential track zone, it may be just off the outer banks, perhaps on sunday. could be some very heavy surf at the beaches as we get into the sunday and monday period. we'll keep an eye on bill for you. here's how our sky is starting off this morning. we're in the 60s to near 70 degrees with the dew points in the 60s. that's moderate humidity. eastern shore now near 70. and out in the mountains in the low 60s weather waters are reporting this morning. there were a few showers last night, shenandoah valley out in the western part of maryland but those have dissipated. traveling today, could be flight delays in florida, gulf coast, up through south land as well as up perhaps through the ohio valley into the upper midwest. some other storms in the central plains. but elsewhere should not have any travel problems. weo have a front that is slowly traveling to

and all of that activity is moving out to the atlantic ocean. and taking a live look at the inner harbour. quiet weather overnight tonight. that's what we will welcome for the daytime for tomorrow. for saturday. for the first day of august. 74 degrees out there. at the inner harbour. partly cloudy skies. and winds are currently calm. but the humidity unfortunately is going to stay on the high side. 93 percent humidity right now. and it will continue to stay pretty high out there. state rainfall totals today. we had over an inch of rain reported at the inner harbour, and half an inch reported at wilmington. so a lot of rainfall in a short amount of time with the line of showers and storms that moved through our area. state temperatures right now in the mid 70s. 74 in baltimore. and 73 in dover. and 73 in hagerstown. and temperatures are going to drop only into the upper 60s. so it is going to be a little bit on the muggy and uncomfortable side, with the temperatures only dropping down to right around 67, to 68 degrees. on the future scan model. w

clear conditions across the mid-atlantic.but we could see the thunderstorm activity erupting over northeastern portions of indiana. northwest ohio, ft. wayne indiana. down through indianapolis, central kentucky getting storms. firing up ahead of the cold front. but a lot of activity over the tropics. zoom out and talk about what's going on out there. right now, this is hurricane bill. a very strong storm. and it is projected to become, well, it just did. category one, just about 10 minutes ago. and it has been bumped up to a category 2. just current data coming in. so category 2, winds at 98 miles per hour. and wind gusts at 121. and this is a very dangerous storm. and it is projected to potentially become a category 3 through the next day here. so here is the projection, model data shows the track of the storm. as we get into 8 p.m. thursday, friday at 8 p.m.. and saturday, around 8:00, be west of bermuda. but you can see the cone here. potential that could go further east or on further west. which we would hate to see becau
