nbc 10's pamela osborne is live in atlantic city this morning. pam, what have you learned since the last time we spoke to you? >> reporter: well, rosemary, we did move, right now we are on arkansas avenue, we did see one person be taken into police custody, i will just get to that in just a moment, but take a look right now, we are outside of the caesars parking garage, this is the general area that you're looking at right now, police have this area blocked off, you can see i counted about a dozen evidence markers on the ground there, this scene itself here in atlantic city this morning is pretty expansive, we have seen several armed officers with their long guns out rushing into this area, we saw a special team of officers in special gear roll by this arkansas avenue location and take a man into custody. there are multiple police departments and law enforcement agencies on scene this morning, police on the scene are not talking right now other than new jersey state police confirming that this is a shooting investigation. now, just a couple block

atlantic city at the airport, 63.hiladelphia, 64. and dover, checking in at 66 degrees. here's the latest on hermine. you can see it spinning this huge counter clockwise circulation wrapping around the center which is approximately 300 miles out to sea, the rain bands are well off to the north. this again is expected to take somewhat of a jog closer to the coast over the next 24 to 36 hours, look at the trajectory of the line here you're piling the water in on the coast. the problem a little is, we have a high tide that's higher than normal. when low tide comes because of the onshore flow, the water can't recede, so the low tide comes. these are the spaghetti plots, there's uncertainty in the exact track of the storm. obviously the closer it turns to the coast, the greater the impact it's going to be. farther a way, the less of the impact. this one is close to the coast, these models have it 100 miles east of what that model is suggesting. that 100-mile shift, until it makes that turn toward the east/northeast that's

>>reporter: an atlantic city police officer has been shot. he's undergoing treatment at the at atlantic care regional medical center. at this point his condition is unknown. the shooting happened in a very busy tourist area of ac around 26789. 30 this morning. police responded to a call on arkansas avenue. they came across a group of people at some point gunfire was exchanged between the group and police. an officer was struck in the process. one of the suspects was shot dead according to an atlantic city sergeant. he says the other suspects took off running. we're currently looking for two more suspects. obviously the investigation is active and fluid. the atlantic county prosecutor's office is on scene they are the ones that will investigate the incident. they are currently here as well as other law enforcement officers assisting us right now. there is a very strong police presence in the area right now. several streets surrounding the scene are blocked off to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. however, police said 10:00 a.m. the outlets are sc

the times of high tide 10:00, atlantic city 10:30.ehoboth beach, monday morning's high tide will be another big one to be concerned about. now, how close are the strong winds? 65 miles away from the 40-mile-an-hour winds. so even the storm is 270 miles away, the stronger winds are much closer than that. the 54-mile-an-hour winds are 120 miles away, so that storm has to go to the left quite a bit for us to get winds of that speed. so, again, we're in better shape tonight than we were earlier. the forecast tracks out of the computer models, still pretty much all tending to make the curve to the left and not let it go on off to the north, certainly not through monday or monday night, maybe by tuesday or wednesday. we have a couple of solutions heading it out to sea, but not much. during the day tomorrow, philadelphia, not bad. temperatures in the 70s, kind of breezy, maybe some showers later in the day. but a big difference between the city and the shore. next few days, here's philadelphia, 76, partly sunny. monday 77, windy, and of cour

for us we are underneath a tropical storm watch from surf city to atlantic city and rehoboth beach. ocean city, maryland updated to a tropical storm warning. here is the latest, right now a tropical storm winds sustained at 50 miles per hour and moving northeast at 15 miles per hour. it is expected to ride over the carolinas today and off the shore of the atlantic coast. once that occurs, and we do have the storm moving off the mid-atlantic coast. it will essentially stall out south and east of atlantic city and southeast of jersey as well. and a change, a windshield wiper effect until the storm moves offshore. this is the latest and update. as it moves off the coast, from sunday the winds with this storm are 65 miles per hour, but by monday it reaches hurricane strength to 75 miles per hour so that is the update and that is the change it goes from tropical storm strength to hurricane strength across our region and this could have an impact across our region especially at the coast. this is what we are calling for prolonged on shore winds saturday night right through sunday, gusts up

release of the atlantic city police officer shot in the head two weeks ago. [ applause ] officer josh vidal gave a thumbs up for a show of support as he left the hospital today.
